What a fun topic we had this month--flowers. I am afraid to count the flower sets I have, but it is safe to say that I have a lot. I thought about trying to make one card with each of my flower sets, and quickly ruled that out as impossible. I did try to make something for each of the color schemes we were given, and I made it to all but one. I'll have to get that one some other time.
Sweet Spring
First up is a little teacher gift that I made based on this post by Christina. I ordered the paper cubes here. It's hard to get a perspective on size in this photo--the cube is 2 inches on all sides. It was surprisingly easy to stamp on the side of the cube. I colored with copics, and even added some glitter with a sakura gel pen.
I stamped and colored some images on a piece of computer paper, and stuck it inside of this pen to coordinate with the memo cube.
Here is a side view:
I made a matching tag using Tremendous Tags, and tied it all together with some sheer ribbon from Michaels.
I am going to enter this into the Gift Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Friends Till The End
My next card uses paper piecing, and is also for this week's Make it Monday #117. I tried to stick as close as possible to this color scheme, but had to make a few substitutions because I really wanted to use my Distress Dots paper.
Funky Florals
This is my favorite of the color schemes, and I think this card is one of my favorites for today. I was inspired by this card I saw a while back, which reminded me how much I love my Background Basics Medallions.
Beautiful Blooms II
I started this card by stamping a background on a quarter sheet of white. I ended up cutting it in two pieces, and using it on two cards. I wanted to use a vertical sentiment on both cards, and couldn't figure out if it should read from the bottom up or the top down. So, I did one each way, and perhaps you can tell me which looks right?
Botanical Silhouettes
I got the idea to use that picket fence from Lisa's card here. I used the fence from Little Bitty Bird. I can't believe I own two different picket fence dies.
The Sweet Life
Last is my other favorite card of the post. I am also submitting this card to this week's Simon Says...Take a Picture.
I know I have kept you too long. Enjoy the rest of the hop. I am eager to see some of my other flower sets in action.
Thanks for Visiting
i have a ton of floral stamps too!! they're all so different, we need them all! love your cards!!

ReplyDeleteOh you clever girl! Your pen is adoreable! Going to have to see about getting Botanical silhouettes. Your the second person who did a fabulous joy with it!
ReplyDeleteSoooo many great ideas here! I think my favorite is the first one. Design is so pretty and putting the paper in the pen and stamping on the cube is a great gift idea! I also really like the Mother's day card and the one with the fence!
ReplyDeleteWow Joyce you've been busy. What a treat to see all these wonderful creations. I'll be pinning a few of them for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love the first projector the pen and pad set,oh my gosh ! Perfect for us stampers. You outdid yourself with all these gorgeous cards! I love the paper pieced bloom, wow!
ReplyDeleteReally love that paper cube idea - the colours are so bright and beautiful. Another one that I particularly love is the Friends Til the End card. Great projects, all of them!
ReplyDeleteWow - beautiful set of projects Joyce - love that they are all so different! The first gift set is a winner and I love how you used the funky florals & Friends to the End sets. As to the vertical sentiments, I think the way you have shown them is the way I would do it - if the panel is on the left side of the card I want to read bottom to top and if it is on the right side, I want to read top to bottom (I think we are trained to read clockwise if that makes sense).
ReplyDeleteOh my Joyce, you have been busy and I love the collection you came up with. All so different but each has something special. The teacher gift is absolutely fabulous and deserves to win the challenge!
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful cards. I love the Blooms II card with the buttons around the sentiment and the extra sentiment up the side.
ReplyDeleteOh my, so many beautiful cards and pretty packaging, Joyce! You've been a very busy lady!

Joyce, each one of your cards is a masterpiece! So beautiful and so creative. I am in love with that sweet little paper cube, what an amazing little gift. Your stamped background is great too, and so clever to cut it for use with two cards, fabulous! I like reading vertical sentiments from the bottom up. But you final card, Mother's Day is wow! I know it will be loved.
ReplyDeleteLove your paper pad and matching pen gift and all your cards too. You have been inspired by the beautiful photos to create beautiful projects.
ReplyDeleteAwesome projects Joyce! Love the pen set and the tamping in the fence is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteYou have been amazingly busy Joyce and they are all beautiful. I won't count the number of flower sets I have, I may feel guilty (probably not).

Hugs,

Each and every one of your cards are so beautiful Joyce. You totally rocked the mini memo cube! I need to CASE um all of your cards? So much to inspire here.
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards for all the inspiration photos, Joyce! Tried to pick a fave, but love them all equally :)
ReplyDeletePS the teacher's gift is perfect
You are really branching out, Joyce! Your paper cube & matching pen make the sweetest gift all decked out with flowers. Your cards are all wonderful, but if I had to pick a favorite I think it would be your Mother's Day card ~ just stunning! Wished I had more time to create but will definitely keep this color combos handy. Great job! : )
ReplyDeleteThis really could have been the Papertrey & Joyce Blog Hop! When I saw the topic, I knew right away that you'd have a ton of eye candy for us! I was not expecting a paper cube and pen, however ... how fun is that. I didn't know there were pens you could stick paper inside. And the yellows in your Mother's Day card are scrumptious! As far as the direction of the sentiments, I thought my answer was going to be "depending on what side of the card it's on" but after I saw the cards, I think I still prefer reading from the bottom up. Interesting question! I've wondered that myself. Have a great Memorial Day weekend, Joyce!!
ReplyDeleteW.O.W! Joyce, these are amazing ... the paper cube and pen are so gorgeous (and definitely CASE-able!) and your cards ... awesome, stunning, inspirational! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a fantastic variety of cards and projects! Can't believe you got to all but one of the combos - kudos to you. ;-) I think the Funky Florals is my favorite - love the stripes and the pretty way you used the colors. They're all so lovely, though. Beautiful work. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, no, no, Joyce, you didn't keep me too long. Usually I end up a bit overwhelmed by the end of your post because you leave me in such awe at how many different beautiful cards you put in one post. But today was just a purely enchanting ride through your garden of cards! At the end, I wanted to keep going! It's impossible for me to pick a favorite, in fact they are ALL going in my faves. I could spend the rest of my blogging and card making life just doing CASEs of your cards!! xxoo Darnell
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many flower sets, especially when you are using them all so fabulously - I loved this post, one beautiful card after the other, you have spoilt us :) x
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are stunning!! Each one has the power to WOW! I really like the botanical silhouettes card with the picket fence.
ReplyDeleteWow! good for you for tackling all the colour combos! The teacher's gift is so cute especially all tied up with that scrumptious ribbon!
ReplyDeleteThe big flower on the second card is awesome and I love the dotty paper you used for it.
Love the two toned leaves and embossed background on the third card.
Hmmm... can't decided which of the next two I like best... The first is so clean and crisp but I love the burst of colours on the second!
The stamped fence is adorable, the popped up flowers are awesome and I love the tiny tag on the twine!
And finally a stunner of a Mother's Day card! Love the polaroid frame and the big ol' bow!
Beautiful cards! Love all the yellow in the one you've submitted to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge! Thanks for joining us!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea on the paper cube and pen set! I love flower stamp sets! It's best not think about how many you have, or you may stop collecting! lol
ReplyDeleteEeeek! Your cube! And I love how you took it up a notch with the matching pen and tag! Amazing. (Thanks for the shout-out, too! :))
ReplyDeleteHey Joyce! Thanks for linking this up to the Gift Packaging Challenge in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! :)
