Independence Day

Hello, happy July 4th and happy Sunday.  I've got several cards I've been working on the past few days, and thought I'd post them before baking the cookies I will bring to a party later today.

First up is a card that is so appropriate for today, and it will be going to a special friend who will be becoming an American citizen very soon.  I am so excited for her, and hope that it can happen before the next election.  I am entering this card at the following challenges:  Color Hues #21: Red & Blue, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Red, White and/or Blue, The Paper Players #548: Stars and/or Stripes, and Just Add Ink #541: Just Add a Shaker.

I was inspired by the challenge at Melissa's Fab Friday: Create an Intricate card, to pull out this intricate Winter Floral Cover Plate to make a Christmas card.  Because the die is so intricate, I kept the rest of the card very simple, to end up with a card that is intricate, yet CAS.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #201: Christmas and CAS Christmas July Challenge: Poinsettia (thanks, Elizabeth).

I used the sketch at Fusion-Summer Dreamin and the PTI Challenge to Create a Floral Happy Birthday Card to create my next card.  I pulled out The Sweet Life stamps, which haven't seen ink in so very long, and it was fun to use something I have had for so long.  I am also entering this card at AAA Birthday #26: Flowers, and Addicted to Stamps and More #408: Birthdays.

I loved the sketch at this week's Freshly Made Sketches #492, and was really stretched trying to make a square card.  I had an older Altenew stamp set out on my desk (Beautiful Day), and one of the images that I had never used really caught my eye, so that is what I started with.  After coloring and fussy cutting those flowers, I adhered them to some die cuts from an older PTI Notebook die, layering a piece of striped vellum over Melon Berry card stock.  I still felt the card needed something, so added some score marks.  I am also entering this card at The Flower Challenge #58: Spots or Stripes, and WWC319: Feminine.

Last up for today is this fun underwater scene, using Avery Elle Underwater Background Builder.  I was inspired by rotating the sketch from AAA Cards #193 and used the optional 'critter' as my fish and seahorse.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

I am also entering the first four cards in this post at Just Us Girls #591: Script.

My Crafty Week

Hello friends.  I have several cards to share today.  As soon as I saw Kim's adorable inspiration card at Muse Challenge #258, I knew I had to play along.

Kim's Inspiration Card

I was inspired by the balloons and pandas.  I decided to do something very similar with penguins, another black and white animal.  I used colors from this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #485.

I used a new-to-me stamp set from STAMPlorations called Fowl Play to enter the bird challenge at Addicted to CAS #132.  I stamped a line up of those adorable birds and then colored them with Copics.  I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #111: Use Only One Third.

This week on PTI Transformation Tuesday, Lizzie showed how she redid a card using Text Block Birthday.  That gave me the idea to take a very masculine card I had made using that same die and redo it as a feminine card.

Original Card

I am also entering this card at Retro Rubber #82: Tic Tac Toe.  I used the diagonal:  Birthday, Die-cut, Embossing.  My stamps, die, and embossing plate are 2 years old.

Last up is a Mother's Day card that I made using flowers from The Sweet Life and one of the Mix & Mat dies from PTI.  I am entering this card at The Flower Challenge #18: Anything Goes and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Floral Frenzy.

Wishing You the Best and Mini Notebook

I have managed to sneak a bit of crafting time in, around packing and then unpacking up my house for new carpet.  After this post, I will be packing up my craft room, as it is due for the new carpet tomorrow.

I fell in love with this card by Kim when she made it at my house with Marybeth's stamps and dies.  I was not smart enough to cut and stamp Marybeth's flowers, but made my own version of Kim's card using The Sweet Life roses.

I used colors from ColourQ #302.

Keeping with my goal to try to do all the Make it Monday's this year, I have a quick little mini note pad that I made for Make it Monday #220.  Patterned paper is American Crafts and the PTI supplies are Beautiful Blooms #2 and Journal Card dies, the notepad paper and Doodlie Do stamp.  I am also entering this at Simply Create Too #91 Anything Goes.

Papertrey April 2015 Blog Hop

Today I am playing along at the April PTI blog hop, where we were given this beautiful inspiration photo.  I was inspired by the navy and white stripes in the back of the photo and those gorgeous pink roses.  If you look closely, you can see the WOS and rain stones on the flowers.

I am also linking this card up at Addicted to Stamps #141 Anything Goes and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Clean and Simple.

Just a Quickie

Hello--I've got a super quick post today--I wanted to share one more inspiration card for this week's CASology challenge, where the cue word is TROPICAL.  Nothing says tropical more than my favorite tropical flower--hibiscus.  I used a Memory Box Hibiscus Flower die in some warm and tropical colors along with a sentiment from PTI Aloha.

You still have some time to play along with CASology this week...the link up ends Monday at noon (CTD).

My next card is my final attempt to make something using this week's Make it Monday #204 Watercolor Smooshing technique.  It's much harder than I thought to get something useable. Finally, I just decided to go with what I had.  I spritzed a bunch of Heidi Swapp Chartreuse Color Spray, Sheer Shimmer Mist and then ran the panel with a Cover Plate Stitched Die.

I am entering this card at Make it Monday #204, Just us Girls #284 Splatters, and Freshly Made Sketches #177.
