Waltzingmouse Flower Show

Hello--my name is Joyce, and I am addicted to Waltzingmouse Camellias.  Want to see what I mean?  Waltzingmouse is having a flower show, and I decided to participate.  The idea is to case one of the many inspiration cards and come up with our own card.

My first creations are based on this gorgeous card from Meredith.  I loved Meredith's color scheme and her background stamping, and so that is what I focused on for my first card.  I used Versifine Onyx Black ink for my stamping, and colored the flowers and leaves with a water brush and Inktense Pencils.  I impressed the front panels with the PTI Picnic Plaid Impression Plate.

I am also linking this card up to CAS-ual Friday's Birthday Bash challenge and The Wonder of Water Color Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

I had another idea from Meridith's card, changing the background stamping a bit, and incorporating her beautiful cut flower focal point.  I stamped the flowers in SU Calypso Coral and the leaves in SU Garden Green.  Then, I stamped each image a second time, using the back side of the stamp, inked with a lighter color and spritzed with water.  I impressed the front panel with the PTI Aida Impression Plate.  I fussy cut two more flowers, stamped in the same way for my focal point.  I am also linking this card up to CAS-ual Friday's Birthday Bash challenge.

Time to move on to JJ's blog, where I found this beautiful card.

Ooh--look at that gorgeous gold embossing.  And, I have an entire jar of Ranger gold embossing powder.  Good thing my Camellia set is still on my desk.  I have been hoarding this super soft and silky ribbon that Kim sent me months ago.  I was finally time to pull it out and use a bit on this card.

Time to put the Camellia set away, right?  Enough of that, and pull out my Folk Art sets.  I found this gorgeous card on Kimberly's blog.

I used some earthy tones from a new pad from American Crafts to make my case of this card.  But, what to put as the central flower focal point?  I wanted something flat for mailing.....good thing I didn't really put those Camellias away.

That is it for me today.  Are you sick of seeing Camellias?  I hope not, because I am already itching to play with them some more.

Thanks for Visiting

I am in love with the "celebrate" it looks just like fabric - so smart how you stamped with the back of the stamps - I stared and stared trying to figure this out on your flickr link - had to come here and read how you did it. I'm going to have to case your case! So cool!

  6. Wow, Joyce--awesome job with all your cards! I love the camellias and MUST get that set! Love how you used it on your last card too. Like you, I worried about mailing and went with the felt rather than paper but your camellia looks gorgeous and will work great.
