Tuesday Trigger, Paper Smooches, and Make it Monday

I have three cards for today, and I am going to show them in the order of how much I like them.  My first card is for this week's Tuesday Trigger.

I just fell in love with this photo.  I was inspired by the sweet flowers, the colors, the buttons and the blanket stitching.  I am also linking this card up to this month's Hero Club challenge which is to make a card for a female.

Next up is a one layer birthday card using three butterflies.  I am entering this card into this week's Paper Smooches Sparks challenge, where the inspiration is butterflies and this picture.  I was inspired by the multiple colors in this butterfly.

Since I don't currently have any Paper Smooches butterflies, I had to improvise.  I die cut some butterflies out of a mask, and then colored them with a rainbow of Inktense pencils.  Then, using a water brush, I painted over them so the colors would run and blend.  Sounds complicated, but it was actually pretty easy.   I also added a little shimmer on the center and the edges of the wings.  There is only one stamped image on this card, and it is a sentiment from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.

I am also entering this card into this week's One Layer Wednesday challenge OLW134 where the challenge is to use as many threesomes as you can.  I have three butterflies and three sequins.  I also have three main colors on each of the butterflies.

Edited to add:  I am linking the next this project to the The Wonder of Watercolor Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Here is what the mask looks like:

My last card is for this week's Make it Monday #110:  Collage Elements, and I used the color scheme from this week's ColourQ cQc #183.   It's good to try new things, right?  Even if they don't work out, and you plan to never do them again, right?  I am wondering if this card is going to be my entry into next year's Ugly Card Contest.  But, I am posting it now, because I did make it today.  I think collages are just not my thing.  This card was so hard for me to make.  Ok--enough complaining, here is the card.

I used images from Tea for Two, Tea for Two Additions, Background Basics Birthday Fun, Iconic Images, Text Style and Wood Grain.  The teapot is stamped with Berry Sorbet, coated with three layers of UTEE, and then crumpled up a little to create a cracked surface.

I will enter all three of these cards into this week's Simon Says Stamps challenge to make a birthday card in honor of their 4th birthday, and Simon Says Stamp and Show Anything Goes challenge.

  2. I agree with Tracey and love all three of your cards. That tea time collage is stunning and your addition of that bird is gorgeous! Your masking of the butterflies in those bright and vivid colors is so fun, but your blue flowers, now that card is stunning!

  15. Your favorite card is awesome. I love how you interpreted that picture. Those butterflies are very beautiful. the colors so bold. Very creative of you to do the masking. Love all the embellishments on that card along with the impression. I think creating a collage with stamps is very difficult. Your card is great though.
