Muse, SSS, Avery Elle

It's been a very busy week for some reason, but I have managed to catch snippets of time to play with some of my new toys and make a few cards.  First up is a card for this week's Muse challenge, where our muse is Marion Vagg with this beautiful card.

I stuck pretty close to the original card.  I loved the three flowers outlined in white and the CAS design.  I used flowers from Waltzingmouse Camellia stamped on colored paper and embossed in white.

My next card is for this week's Simon Says Stamp challenge Travel/Cityscapes.   I am a city girl at heart, and am slowly building up my stash of city scape stamps and dies.  For this card, I used my new Memory Box Cityscape Nightline die.  I hope to enter this challenge a few more times with my city scape stamps.

My next card is an attempt to use my brand new Avery Elle Fanfare stamp to create an ombre pattern, like this card from the Paper Crafts blog.  I am still getting to know all my new SU ink colors, so I'm not sure that I picked all the right shades, but I am happy with the overall look of the card.  This card has already been sent to my mother-in-law, and I don't think she will complain about the colors.

My last card is for the current Avery Elle challenge, where we were given this festive scene as our inspiration.  I am not even sure that I should be posting this card, as I am not wild about how it came out.  But, I don't know if I'll have time to make another card, and I really wanted to participate, so--here goes.  This just might be the card I pick for next year's April Fool's Ugly Card blog hop.

What was I thinking?  I pulled the colors for the fan strips from the colors of the balloons.  It is layered over the woodgrain, which represents the table.

  3. Joyce, all of your cards are fabulous, including the last one. You put so much work into each one but your first card is simply stunning and a winner if you ask me! Your Camellia's are so perfect and so beautiful, I can't wait to get my own stamps now to play with. I love that you did the embossing in white too. Your fanfare cards are so fun and very festive, love your choice of colors. Oh, but that city scape is amazing, another toy of mine that I have not pulled out yet...your card reminds me of San Francisco at night, just breath taking.

  5. Your city-scape card is fabulous!! I love those speech bubbles and the different color of windows you made. Totally looks like someone is talking to someone in a different building. That is a genius card. I also really like the fanfare stamp with the barnwood. That was really smart, a rustic meets modern card!

  6. Joyce, love your white embossed flowers! I took a couple year hiatus from embossing, and now I can't seen to make a card without it : ) The cityscape is my favorite, I think. LOVE how you have the two upper floors with red windows, tied into the red speech bubbles. So smart!!

  7. Wow Joyce, I love your beautiful WMS floral card in these pretty shades! Your city scape is lovely too, a perfect sponged sky. And I love that fanfare stamps, I have them too and I love the clean patterns they make, I will have to try them in ombré too!

  8. You have been a busy little bee! All of your cards are lovely (even the one you don't like;), but my fave is the cityscape (shocker, I know!). For the last card, I'm sure you'll step away from it for a day or two and come up with a brilliant way to make you LOVE it!

    Have a great weekend Joyce!

  9. Where to start? LOVE the muse cards - the size of the flowers is great - love the leaves extending off the card base. The city scape is fabulous - love the background & the different colors in the windows. The fanfare stamp is fun - great to see a couple of different takes with it & I really like the last one - the color profile does go with the wood print. Always great to see what you have created!

    LOVE the first card...
those Camellias are gorgeous outlined in white!
    And that cityscape is awesome...
but you can't tempt me because I'm a country girl so you need to stop using those dies before you force me to buy them! :)
And what great cards with the fans...
I think the colors look fabulous!!
    And nope...
I already have the ugliest card ever for next year...
I'm going to blow everyone outta the water with it! ;)

  14. Great cards, Joyce! I think my favourite is the city scape -- it's darling! I saw that challenge on the SSS blog and was sorry that I don't have a city scape stamp set or die. Although.... maybe I can make one on my silhouette! Thanks for the inspiration, my friend! It's always such a treat to visit your blog!
