The 12 Kits of Christmas: May

What is going on?  Where is Christmas?  Has it been stolen by the Grinch?  No, don't worry.  This is just a brief interruption in our regularly scheduled '12 Kits of Christmas' program, to bring you the 1 kit of Hanukkah.

This month was my turn to host the kit, and I decided it might be fun for everyone to play with some Chanukah stuff, just as a change of pace.  I was pretty sure that I was the only one in the group who owned some of these stamps, and decided to send them out and see what happened.  Suzanne, our resident graphic designer, was kind enough to give us a new, temporary logo for this month, too.

Here is a picture of the kit I sent out.  Doesn't Kara do such a great job of taking photos?

I found some digital paper on Etsy that had a Chanukah theme as well as lots of fun other patterns, in a color scheme that matched with the PTI colors of Enchanted Evening, Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain and Harvest Gold.  I used Mazel Tov, Tranquility Trilogy and an Obsession Impression Jewish Greeting set, plus lots of different die cuts in matching colors.  There is a complete supply list at the end of this post.

Since I was the host, I felt obligated to make a lot of projects.  No need to hold back any supplies to CASE any creations, since I could just make more of anything I needed.

Now for the best part--head on over to the blogs of all the other gals in The 12 Kits of Christmas to see what they have done with their Chanukah kits.

  5. These are all great Joyce. I think my favorite is the menorah (sp?) in the window and how you added texture to the yellow cardstock - it really kicks it up a notch.

  7. I think you created not only a great kit, but some great cards for yourself too Joyce! I love the little Favor-it, it is so cute and with the great floral die cut, they are so delicate and I loved using them on my cards too. I also really like burlap texture on the first card and how you used the triangles to form a Star of David. My favorite card was the one with the presents though...love those die cuts and it shows they aren't just for birthdays too! Great job this month, you were a fabulous hostess!

  8. Joyce, fabulous kit and your cards are so beautiful. I never even thought of using that window frame that always seems to sneak into some ones cards, so clever. I love all of the bling you added and that little ribbon flower, wow, just too cute. The digital paper you choose is perfect, love the prints and thanks again for being an incredible hostess this month. I really had fun with this kit.

  9. Golly, Joyce! You made such an amazing kit for the girls, Joyce! And you (and the girls) have sold me on that Whimsy die! I must have it! I love the way it looks behind the frames! Your cards are all so pretty! I especially love your first one, and think it was ingenious to make the Star of David from Triagnle Triolgy! I also especially love your menorah peeking out the window with the ribbon flower!!!

  10. Thanks again for this wonderful kit! The Jewish Star made with the Triangle Trilogy looks beautiful on your card. Love the way you added the thread in all three colors on the tag in the second card. All of the projects you made are beautiful as I knew they would be. Your window frame card is adorable also and so creative.

I love the L’Chaim’ sentiment that means ‘to life’ that you sent. I cant wait to use that one.

  12. Joyce! these Chanukah projects are fabulous! There are very few in my life who celebrate the holiday, but I love the tradition and the story. 13. Joyce, your kit was a wonderful idea and such fun! Thanks so much for sharing your supplies and giving us a chance to make some things for Hanukah. You have been an awesome hostess! Your projects are awesome too! Love the Star of David made with triangles. I have that set but never use it so I was so happy to see different designs using those. The card with the label and different colored thread, the one with the trio of gifts and the window--WOW, they are all stunning! And I love your treat box & tag! I can see the Whimsy Circle die is going on my 'must have' list!

  14. Joyce, the 1 kit of Hanukkah was such a great idea! I'm so glad that I got to play around with such great supplies, and ABUNDANT supplies!! I still have so many left over that I think I could make like 5 more cards! Now for yours, I think my favorite is the tag, I just love it! The way that the tag hangs off the page, the button, and how you cut out the dreidel :) The window card is wonderful, too! Love the embossed snowflakes outside and how you can see the menorah through the window :) The first card is stunning with all the deep blues, and I love the way you layered the triangles!
