I am back from my trip to New York for my nephew's Bar Mitzvah. In case you were wondering, going to New York from San Diego just for a weekend is very tiring. But, it was great to see all the family, the Bar Mitzvah ceremony was very nice, and the party was one of those 'over the top' parties I had only read about until now. Let's just say that it was a night to remember, but that my husband and I are glad that we live in low-key California, and that our girls wouldn't ever expect or even want such a shindig.
Here is the card I made for my nephew. I used the colors of his invitation.
This has become my standard format for Bar and Bat Mitzvah cards. I like how the trifold makes it like opening an ark. Here is the inside:
Looks like I will be spending the rest of the day doing laundry (boo) and catching up on all my favorite blogs (yay).
Come back tomorrow night for our May "The Twelve Kits of Christmas" post. I am the host this month, and I guarantee a surprise.
Supplied Used (PTI):
Stamps: Mazel Tov, Paper Source Mazel Tov
Paper: White, Smokey Shadow, Scarlet Jewel
Other: Limitless Layers Ovals dies, Herringbone IP
Thanks for Visiting
This is lovely, Joyce!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good weekend-- just the idea of flying to New York for the weekend sounds exciting to me!
Can't wait to see your surprise tomrorow....
Welcome home my friend, glad to hear you had such a great weekend. I am sure you are jet lagged. I love your card, the herringbone embossing is perfect for this card and the gatefold opening is awesome. No worries about laundry, it will be there tomorrow. ;)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Joyce, you must be so tired. Wow, what a classy Bar Mitzvah card, just beautiful. Love the trifold . Sounds like a wonderful party and so nice to be with family.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home... Sounds you had a blast!!! Your card is so beautiful and elegant. When I first saw your post I thought wow, this is a fabulous card for this occasion and I'll bet your nephew loved it. Enjoy your errands and laundry today!
ReplyDeleteYEAHHHH! You're back! Tri fold cards always scare me - in my head it seems so complicated - but gosh - what drama and promise they hold! What a beautiful card! I love the embossing and the fact that you used the invitation colors - PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteThis is so elegant, Joyce! Glad you had a nice trip!
ReplyDeletegreat card!! you need a vacation from your vacation!
ReplyDeleteThat is one classy and fancy card! Glad you had a good time - but nice to have you back :)
ReplyDeleteThis card is beautiful Joyce. I live so close to New York. When I read that you were here I thought - wouldn't it have been nice to connect. Then I got back to reality and I know the coast to coast trip for that short time is so taxing. I agree that in this part of the country, celebrations are so overdone - weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, graduations, sweet 16's... it is rediculous. Anyway, your card is beautiful and I am glad you enjoyed your trip out this way, and glad you are home sweet home.
ReplyDeleteI really like the tri-fold style, it's very elegant!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab card for your Nephew's specila celebration, and so great that you matched it to the invitation.
ReplyDeleteBoo to laundry!
Love that you made a tri fold card for this Joyce, it makes such a great presentation when you open it to reveal the sentiment inside. You HAVE to tell me about this party! Was it like one of those ones you see on tv?
