Time Out # 59...Reminder...Make + A + Wish

Hello.  There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is:

Masculine with Optional Twist of Mixed Media

(For the purpose of this challenge, we are defining 'mixed media' as stamps and ink plus two other elements that add texture and/or dimension.)

Our sponsor this time is STAMPlorations, and I used a different image from World Birthday Cakes. There are several iconic images in this set, each converted into a birthday cake.

I stamped the Sydney Opera House image onto Scarlet Jewel paper and fussy cut it.  I masked off an irregular shape around the top third of my card, and stamped the opera house in Versamark ink--it is difficult to see in the photo, but I created a background pattern of random bits of the same focal image.

I am also entering this card at Paper Players #300 where they are celebrating their 300th challenge with a CAS Celebration challenge, and at Addicted to Stamps and More #199 Clean and Simple.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Patty and our sponsor is STAMPlorations.

CASology Week #203: Congratulations

This is my second post today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post, please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is
Congratulations.  I needed a graduation cards, so that is what I decided to do with this week's cue word.

I used my niece's school colors to make this graduation card for her using PTI Retro Style Graduation.

Now, it's your turn.  How does CONGRATULATIONS inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

ColourQ #347....Have a Beautiful Day

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

It's time for another color challenge at ColourQ.

I really loved the bold floral pattern on the inspiration photo, and decided to go bold as well for my card.

Sometimes when I work on a color challenge, I have to remind myself that I don't have to use all the colors in the same amount.  In fact, it is better to follow the 'gallon, quart, pint' rule that I heard about somewhere (probably a PTI Make it Monday video).

I used the dark brown (Memento Rich Cocoa) for my Mondo Magnolia stamp and sentiment, Peach Parfait (for me, Crisp Canteloupe paper) and Blush Blossom (Sweeet Blush paper) for my flower--which I fussy cut, and Going Grey (liquid pearls) as an accent color.

Please head over to the ColourQ blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I hope you will play along this week.

Time Out #59...Happy + Cake + Day

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is:

Masculine with Optional Twist of Mixed Media

(For the purpose of this challenge, we are defining 'mixed media' as stamps and ink plus two other elements that add texture and/or dimension.)

Our sponsor this time is STAMPlorations, and I chose to use their really cute birthday set called World Birthday Cakes.  There are several iconic images in this set, each converted into a birthday cake.  Very fun.

I heat embossed the Leaning Tower of Pisa image in white, and then sponged distress inks over and around it.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Patty.

CASology Week #202: Masculine

This is my second post today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post, please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is
Masculine.  I am in need of some Father's Day cards, so that is what I decided to do with this week's cue word.

Perhaps you remember this plaid that I made for a challenge a few weeks ago?  I had one piece left, and so I made it the focal point of this Father's Day card.

Lately I have been fussy cutting my sentiments and popping them up on my card wherever I think they look best.  Here, I placed my sentiment across all three elements of my card, tying them together.

Now, it's your turn.  How does MASCULINE inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

ColourQ #346....Happy Father's Day

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

It's time for another color challenge at ColourQ.  I love this color scheme for a masculine card, and also took my inspiration from the photo.

I pulled out a necktie stamp and die set that my friend Kim gave me ages ago to make this CAS Father's Day card.

Please head over to the ColourQ blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I hope you will play along this week.

Sending Hugs and Happy Birthday

I am playing along with this week's Make it Monday #252: Shadowing with Copic Markers.  I made this card using a Hugs word die from Big Hugs and framed it with the smallest die from Embroidered Borders.

I added the butterflies from Color Pop Butterflies.  You can see in the first photo that I shaded the right and lower portions of the word 'hugs' with a Copic BG11 marker.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #197: Make Your Mark and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.

My next card was inspired by this card on Carol's blog.  As soon as I saw her card, I had to try to make my own.  Unfortunately, the stamp I used did not work for her technique, so I ended up doing a some ink blending instead.  I took my colors and floral inspiration from Inspired by All the Little Things #18.  eta.  I see that All the little things has closed, but I'll still show the photo here, because it is still where I got my color inspiration.

I heat embossed MFT Etched Flower and then sponged and blended 4 different colors of distress ink, matching the colors in the inspiration photo.

I am also linking this card up at CAS-ual Fridays CFC149: Florals, Addicted to CAS #89: Petals, and Seize the Birthday (no toppings).

Time Out #58...Reminder...Hello

Hello!  There is still time to play along in our challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge is a Home Sweet Home challenge, and we have this photo to inspire you.

This week, I took my inspiration from the brick wall in the photo as well as the colorful window set into it.  I embossed my kraft card front with a brick embossing folder that I have had forever.

Then, as a nod to the colorful window set into the brick wall, I added some colorful flowers and a butterfly to my brick card front.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Karen J.

CASology Week #201: Sunshine

This is my second post today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post, please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday.  It's time for another challenge at CASology.  This week, our cue word is Sunshine.  What a great cue word for the beginning of summer.  I hope you are seeing sunshine where you live.  If not, why not bring it on with a card?

I used a sunburst die from PTI in my brightest and sunniest yellow, and stamped my sentiment right on it.  I layered some clouds right behind my sunshine.  The white on white clouds add interest and texture to my card while still keeping it CAS.

I would also like to announce the winner of my blog candy from our 200th challenge celebration last week....

Monika Reeck (entry #73, comment #39 on blog)

Congratulations, Monika--please let me know your mailing address.

Now, it's your turn.  How does SUNSHINE inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.
