Time Out #153...Reminder...Happy Birthday

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is to be inspired by something in your wardrobe, past or present.

I took my inspiration from these leggings I wear to the gym.  I have been thinking about making a card inspired by this pattern for a long time, so when I saw this week's challenge, I knew just what I wanted to do.

I was inspired by the all over pattern of black flowers, and the color gradations on the flowers and in the space between the flowers.  I used MFT Etched Flowers stamp and sponged various shades of purple ink in a pattern inspired by the print on my leggings.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and our Guest Designer, Lise MariannPoppystamps is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Sending Hugs and Happy Birthday

I am playing along with this week's Make it Monday #252: Shadowing with Copic Markers.  I made this card using a Hugs word die from Big Hugs and framed it with the smallest die from Embroidered Borders.

I added the butterflies from Color Pop Butterflies.  You can see in the first photo that I shaded the right and lower portions of the word 'hugs' with a Copic BG11 marker.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #197: Make Your Mark and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.

My next card was inspired by this card on Carol's blog.  As soon as I saw her card, I had to try to make my own.  Unfortunately, the stamp I used did not work for her technique, so I ended up doing a some ink blending instead.  I took my colors and floral inspiration from Inspired by All the Little Things #18.  eta.  I see that All the little things has closed, but I'll still show the photo here, because it is still where I got my color inspiration.

I heat embossed MFT Etched Flower and then sponged and blended 4 different colors of distress ink, matching the colors in the inspiration photo.

I am also linking this card up at CAS-ual Fridays CFC149: Florals, Addicted to CAS #89: Petals, and Seize the Birthday (no toppings).

Welcome Baby and Happy Mother's Day

Hi there.  I am stopping by quickly with a card that popped into my head as I was browsing through some of my favorite challenges this morning.

I just bought this Poppystamps Small Elephant die, and could not wait to use it.

I am entering this card at Poppystamps Challenge #20 Pretty in Pink, Less is More #74: Use designer paper in a CAS way and Addicted to CAS #87: Plaid.  I dug through my patterned paper pads until I found this itty bitty scaled pink plaid in an old Valentines pad.

One more quick card from me today--and it is another Mother's Day card, as I am finding I am still a few cards short.   MFT Etched Flower, another recent purchase, was begging to be inked up, and so I did.

I covered an entire card front with this background stamp, inked in Raspberry Fizz, and then softened it with a piece of vellum, before attaching both a die cut and fussy cut sentiment.

I will enter this card at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes.

Thanks for Visiting
