Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is commencement.  My daughter and a bunch of her friends will be graduating from high school in just a couple of weeks, so I took this opportunity to get started on my graduation cards.

Now it's your turn.  How does COMMENCEMENT inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

CASology Week #211: Dream

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is Dream.

I combined a sentiment from PTI Get Lost with sentiments and images from PTI Retro Style Graduation to make a graduation card.  Transitional events like graduations seem to be a good time to take stock of one's dreams and make a plan to pursue them.

Funny thing about that little road sign that my daughter (a recent high school grad) pointed out to me when I showed her this card--why would the 'aspirations' point in the opposite direction of your 'hopes' and 'dreams' ?  How does that make sense?  Do you need to give up one in order to pursue the other?  Well, I think she is right, but I guess whoever made the stamp set thought that it would look better to have the arrows alternating.  Interesting food for thought....

While I had my Misti set up, I made a second version of this card in a different color scheme.

Now, it's your turn.  How does DREAM inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

CASology Week 150: Graduation

Hello and happy Tuesday.  It's time for a new challenge at CASology.  Our cue word this week is GRADUATION.  My oldest daughter graduated from high school last week, so this is a very convenient cue word for me.  Here are the two graduation cards I made for her.  They are both made with PTI Retro Style stamps and dies.

This card was from her father and me.

Here is some extra inspiration for you.  I made this card for my youngest daughter to give to her sister.

While I was at it, I made some very simple thank you cards for Rachel to use.  These cards are 3.5 x 5.

Congratulations Rachel!

So, how about you?  How are you inspired by GRADUATION?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Happy Saturday

Happy Saturday.  Yay--a long weekend.  I am starting out by posting several cards I have been working on.

I was inspired by the inlaid die cut dogs at this week's MUSE #118 and the colors at Color Me...! #72 to make this birthday card for a friend who is a huge cat lover.  I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #187.

I used the inlaid die cut technique multiple times to make my row of colorful cats using Impression Obsession cat dies.

I am also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #64 where the challenge is animals and Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge to use Die Cuts or Punches.

I did a little bit on the inside of this card.

I am still loving my Retro Style stamps from PTI.  Here is a birthday card I made using those stamps and the Numbers Impression Plate.

I am entering this card at Seize the Birthday Anything Goes and Craft Stamper MITI Anything Goes Take a Stamp challenges.

I pulled out a new but never been used Hero Arts stamp for this next card which I am entering at A Blog Named Hero where the challenge is NEW.  I stamped once in white and then moved the stamp a little bit and stamped again in green.  The stamp I used was cling, so positioning was a bit difficult, but I think this technique is very forgiving.

I am entering this thank you card at The Challenge #35 as I was inspired by the jar of pretty yellow flowers in the inspiration photo.  I am also linking up at Simon Says Monday XYZ challenge (Y for yellow flowers).  Yes, that little shelf that my vase is sitting on is made of washi tape.

And a couple of teacher cards for the end of school.  I'm CASing various projects pinned by PTI from the release of Teach and Inspire.  I used ColourQ #292 colors for this CASE of Nicole Heady's card.

And another version, this one a CASE of Maille Belles.  Until I added the bling at the end, I was using the color scheme from Colour Me...!  I am entering this card at Simply Create #86 Keep it Simple.

That's it for me today.  We are supposed to get more rain this weekend--good news considering the terrible drought we are facing.

Let's Start the Weekend Off With Some Cards

Hello and happy Saturday.  Nothing like starting the weekend with a big blog post--lots of stuff I have been working on this week--and then I can clean up and start again.

I must admit to really loving the way this card turned out.  I had an idea to die this peony cover plate twice--once in black to get the outline image and then again in white.  I water colored the white parts that were flowers and leaves, and then pieced the black, painted, and white pieces together to form this card.  I used Neat & Tangled Across The Card for my sentiment, and fussy cut it and adhered it over my flower.

I am entering this card at Little Tangles #56:  Clean and Simple, CAS on Sunday #58:  Cheer Up, Buttercup, and Happy Little Stampers May CAS Challenge:  Die Cuts/ Punches.

Next up, a birthday card for Sandie--I heard that she is having a birthday and all of Blogland is invited to the party here.  Sandie is such a talented card maker and all around nice gal.  I got to know her just a bit when I was lucky enough to Guest Design at her challenge blog, Time Out.

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDIE!!!  I hope you like ice cream.....

I am entering this card at Simon Says Monday Challenge to use Simon Brand Products, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Inspiration Color Swatch, Seize the Birthday: Use the Negative and Retro Sketches #165.

Speaking of Time Out, I have a card for their current challenge, which is Grunge with the optional twist of embossing.  Yikes--I was stumped and sent a lot of card stock to the recycle bin.  But, I am happy with what I finally created. Good thing I remembered my old PTI Grunge Me stamp.  I've got a nephew with a birthday coming up at the end of the month, and this will be perfect for him.  Can you see the Burlap Impression Plate at work?

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #44:  CAS and Craft Stamper Take it Make it May Challenge Anything Goes: must use a stamp.

A birthday card to celebrate AAA Cards First Birthday (this my 3rd entry) using Retro Style and the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches #186, which I rotated.

Are you still with me?  Last card of the day, I promise--One more aniversary card for my mom's stash.  I was inspired by the wood grain and the flowers in the inspiration photo at The Card Concept #35 and my style is Clean and Layered.  I used the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #123

I am also entering this card at Retro Rubber #14:  May Flowers and A Blog Named Hero Clean and Simple--I used Hero Arts ink (Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach, Lemon Yellow and Forever Green) and an older PTI flower stamp--Rosie Posie.  I just love how dark and crisp those HA inks are--and everything was stamped only once (no MISTI for me...yet...)
