2014--A Retrospective

Another year has come and gone, and I have taken this opportunity to look over all the cards I made and blogged about over the past year.  Since we are saying goodbye to 2014, I have cheated on my baker's dozen just a smidge and have selected 14 of my favorite cards to share today.  I tried to pick some of my favorites and also cards that represent something I really like--either a favorite style, stamp set, or technique.  If you are looking to see all my cards in one place, click here and you will be taken to my Pinterest board, where I pin all of my own cards.

What do I notice?  A lot of white space, die cuts--both negative and positive, paper piecing, flowers, and buildings and houses.  Yes, that sounds like me.

Thank you for joining me on this trip down memory lane.  I am so grateful for all the friends I have met in this crafty blogging community.  Your visits, comments and friendship mean a lot to me.

I wish you all a happy and healthy new year.

2013--A Retrospective

Another year has come and gone, and I have taken this opportunity to look over all the cards I made and blogged about over the past year.  I have a baker's dozen to share today--I tried to pick some of my favorites and also cards that represent something I really like--either a favorite style, stamp set, or technique.  If you are looking to see all my cards in one place, click here and you will be taken to my Pinterest board, where I pin all of my own cards.

I love my Memory Box Landscape dies, so had to include one of my cards using this die.

I love all the white space on this card, and how crisp the red and white look together.

I fell in love with speech bubbles this year, and made several cards along these same lines.  This one is from a 4-of-a-kind kit sent to me by Renee.  LOVE my 4-of-a-kind group!

It's no secret that I love owls, and one of my favorite owls to stamp with and paper piece is Lawn Fawn Winter Owl.

This card was my first foray into the feather trend.

I have to have a few flower cards as favorites, since flowers are some of my favorite stamps.  I once considered counting all my flower stamp sets, but decided that I don't really want to know a number like that.

I think that Harvest Berries is one of my all time favorite stamp sets.  Every time I use it, I fall in love all over again.  So, I had to include a card using this set.

My latest favorite stamp set is City Scenes.  I am absolutely in love with this set, and hope they add more cities to it in the coming year.  Although I live in a little beach town, I am a city girl at heart.

One of my favorite stamping techniques is basic background stamping.  Whether I am stamping a pattern or just random, I really love just putting a simple sentiment flag on a stamped panel and calling it done.

I love Wonderfully Whimsical and do not use it nearly as much as I should.  I used it on this card for a CASology challenge, where the cue word was 'UP'.

This card is a great example of my obsession this year with all sorts of subway sentiments as well as balloons.  Birthday cards are my all time favorite kind of card to make.

2012--A retrospective

New year's eve afternoon--a great time to look back over my blog and pick out my favorite cards from each month of 2012.   I have been enjoying reading other posts like this, and hope that you will enjoy my own little trip down memory lane.

Do you have any special plans for tonight?  My husband will be cooking up a feast, as usual.  I am in charge of dessert, and made chocolate pot de creme earlier this morning.  It needs to sit all day, and I will not have access to the kitchen once dinner prep starts.  Well, I'll have access to the sink for washing dishes, but that's about it.

Sending wishes for a happy and healthy new year to all my friends in blog land.  See you in 2013!

2011 - A Retrospective

I'm jumping on the 'year in review' bandwagon.  It's been so fun reading every one else's.

I started my blog in August of this year, but prior to that, I had a gallery at Splitcoaststampers.  So, my cards from January - July are from SCS, and my cards from August - December are from my blog.  It's been fun looking back over the year to put this post together.

Join in the fun!

Do you have any fun plans for tonight?  We always have a family night in, with an elaborate dinner normally cooked by my husband.  This year, he has enlisted our daughters as sous chefs.  I am always the pastry chef (and dish washer).

Happy new year to all.  See you next year.  And,
