CASology Week #177: Toy

This is my second post for today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post,  please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday.  Time for another challenge at CASology.  This week, our cue word is TOY.  How about a fun snow globe--a great toy for the winter season.

I used PTI Winter Snow Globe stamps and dies to create my little snow globe, and stamped a flurry of snowflakes to the left of my stamped image.

Now, it's your turn.  How does TOY inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We are sponsored this week by Concord & Ninth.

I am also linking this card up at Addicted to Stamps and More #174:  CAS and Inkspirational #97: Flake (there are snow flakes stamped along the left side of the card as well as inside the snow globe.

PTI October 2014 Blog Hop

I'm playing along with the PTI October Blog Hop, where the challenge is to make holiday cards with various color schemes.  I tried to use some older sets, and also to use all the color schemes.   It's getting late, so I'll be brief.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #159.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #97.

I ran out of time to make something for the last 2 color schemes.  Perhaps I'll have some time later on.  In the meantime, that's all for now.

More Tags

After seeing all of Tracey's fantastic tag posts, and even contributing a tag myself, I find that I am a little obsessed with making tags.  Here are three tags I made for this week's Lawnscaping Challenge #71.

This set of tags is inspired by this week's Curtain Call Christmas Countdown challenge, and I will enter the tags with the Christmas tree into this week's CAS-ual Fridays CFC122.  These tags are so glittery and sparkly in real life.  I used Prisma Glitter on the starry background and Stickles and Wink of Stella on the ornaments and the snow globe bases.

They are packaged up to give as a gift set.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Lawn Fawn Tags
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn Winter Owl, Winter Fox, Winter Bunny

Ink:  Scarlet Jewel, Ripe Avocado, SU Baja Breeze, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black
Dies:  Tag Sale
Other:  Copics, Ribbon, Embroidery Floss

Snow Globe Tags

Santa Shaker Card

Susan Raihala of Simplicity has a heartbreaking story on her blog about a little boy undergoing cancer treatment.  She has organized a card drive to shower Jonah with love this Christmas.

Jonah is only 4 years old, so probably can't read yet. I thought he might enjoy a shaker card with Santa inside a snow globe.  I assume that he enjoys candy, so I used some brightly colored papers with images of candy.

I stamped a map inside, so he could see where this card came from.

Please see Susan's blog post here if you would like to read more or perhaps even participate in the card drive.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Winter Snow Globe, Road Trip
Paper:  White, Scarlet Jewel, AC Merrymint, Clear
Ink:  Scarlet Jewel, Memento Tuxedo Black
Dies:  Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles, On the Diagonal, Stitched Sentiment Flag, Winter Snow Globe
Other:  Copics, Martha Stewart Tinsel Glitter

Coffee with Friends, and The Rest of My Holiday Tags

Lucky me--I was able to meet up in person with two gals that I met on the internet, and have been fortunate enough to get to know, in real life and on line.  Cathy, Marybeth, and I now have a Christmas tradition to get together in Irvine for coffee right before Christmas break--but while my girls are still in school.  Yay--I have a Christmas tradition, finally.

We sat and drank coffee and talked and laughed all morning.  What a great time we had.  Cathy was brave enough to ask a very scary looking, but actually quite nice, young man (tattoo guy) to take our picture, so we could tell all our bloggy fans what we were up to.

If there are paper crafters involved, then you know that there will be cool gifts.  Cathy made this awesome candy bar holder--I think I need to get that template from her.  Isn't that adorable, and she also told me her bow tying secrets.

If you are wondering what this is, it is a gift from Marybeth, and it is the worlds largest roll of foam tape.  Isn't that a riot.  I think it will take me from now until next December to use it up.  I will certainly try.

And, lastly, something crafty from me--here are the rest of my holiday tags for the year.

These tags were made with PTI Holiday Lights stamps, and I added Glossy Accents to the light bulbs.  They are pretty much exactly the same as some tags I made last  year.

These tags are made with the cutest Washi tape from Michaels.  I was inspired by Tracey's tags here, and I used sentiments from Peace, Love & Joy and Happiest of Holidays, both from PTI

These tags use Winter Snow Globe from PTI.

These tags use images from 2012 Holiday Tags and a sentiment from Holiday Lights.

And, finally, a tag for my daughters' bus driver, using snowflakes from one of the many sets that were lying around, and PTI Boy Basics Truckin It.
