CASology Week #338...Plastic

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is PLASTIC.

Many wonderful things are made of plastic, it is true, but the images that turned up when I Googled 'PLASTIC' put me in the mood to think about recycling.

I pulled out a stamp (a freebie, I think) from Serendipity Stamps and layered it with it in a craft circle.  My use of kraft and green is a deliberate choice to reinforce my message of being kind to our earth and to recycle.

Now it's your turn.  How does PLASTIC inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer Francesca and the CASology design team.

CASology Week #253: Clothes

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is clothes.  I decided to use one my favorite Serendipity stamps called Three Dresses.  A little fussy cutting and paper piecing, and my CAS card was done.

Now it's your turn.  How does CLOTHES inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We are sponsored this week by STAMPlorations.

ColourQ #363...Fight Like a Girl

It's time for another challenge at ColourQ.   This week, our color scheme is black, newsprint, and one spot of color.  You will notice something strange about my card.

Where is the newsprint?  That is a very good question.  I completely missed that part of the color palette, even though I can see it is right there in front of me.  My fellow DT members have been so kind and supportive, and encouraged me to post this card anyway.

So, here is my card--pink with a faint grey ribbon, and one of my favorite sentiment for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I am also entering this card at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog #60: Anything Goes.

Please head over to the ColourQ blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I am sorry that my card is not going to provide you with any ColourQ inspiration this week, but perhaps it may encourage you to do your monthly breast self exam.

I hope you will play along this week.

Think Pink

I've got a card all decked out in pink for several challenges.

I started out with one of my favorite Serendipity Stamps--an all over flower background stamp, and stamped it in Sweet Blush ink.

I cut a window with my brand new Wonky Window die, and added my sentiment inside the window.

I am playing along at Serendipity Stamps #60: Anything Goes, the brand new Flower Challenge #1: Anything Goes, Addicted to Stamps and More #214: Clean and Simple, and Freshly Made Sketches #257.

ColourQ #340....Happy Mother's Day

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

Happy Tuesday and welcome to a new challenge at ColourQ.

We have a new set of colors this week.  I immediately thought of florals with these colors.  Perhaps it was the inspiration photo.

I stamped and heat embossed a floral image from Serendipity, then colored with Copics.

Please head on over to the ColourQ challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team. I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.

Thanksgiving Weekend Wrap Up

Hello and happy Sunday.  I was fortunate enough to have lots of crafty time this weekend and I was able to do something I have not done in a long time--make lots of cards just for fun and play along with a bunch of challenges.  So let's get right to it.

First up is a card where I was inspired by the photo and sketch at Fusion {Blue Christmas} and the challenge at Paper Players #273 Tic Tac Toe, where I am using the diagonal (Snowflake, Sparkle or Shine, Die Cut).

I stamped a background pattern using PTI Fab Flakes and Hero Arts Ombre Inks (Pool to Navy).  I used the SSS A2 Curved edge die on my front panel and also to create the curved banner for my sentiment from Avery Elle.  Hard to see in the picture, but those snowflakes are all glittered up with WOS and Stickles.

Next up is a mostly white card using the Serendipity Stamps Bird Die, which I cut multiple times and adhered all over my card front to create texture and dimension.  This card from Kim inspired my idea.  I heat embossed the sentiment in black on vellum from PTI Wet Paint Holiday, and added some blue sequins.

I am entering this card at SSCB #49: Happy Holidays, Merry Monday #181: Blue and White with Texture, Simply Create Too #99: Snow or use mostly white, and Addicted to CAS: Dimension.

How about some penguins?  My next card features a trio of penguins from PTI Holiday Folk Mini and uses the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #150.  Hard to see in this photo, but I used embossing paste and a stencil to add snow to the top of the card behind the penguins.

I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #53: Anything Goes and The Challenge #52: Create a Christmas Card.

Fantastic video this week at Make it Monday #252 reminding us about Layered stamping on Kraft, so I used that technique along with the new Fab Flakes stamps to make my next card.  I used a stacked die cut 'season's' for my sentiment, and had the bottom layer white and offset by a little, to mimic the stamping.  Hard to see, but I used the Lil Inkers Circles and Diamonds cover plate for a little quilted texture on my stamped panel.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes and Christmas Card Challenges #52 Anything Goes.

Ready for another penguin?  This one is from PTI Warmest Wishes, and I colored him as well as all the other bits on this card with Copic markers.  I used the sketch from FMS #214 and am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #172: Make Your Mark.

Are you still with me?  Sorry for the long post--this is my last project to share today.  Another set of tags, this one inspired by the challenge at Muse Christmas Visions where the theme is red and green plus a tree.  This is my first time playing along at this fun challenge.

I used a set from Clearly Whimsey that I won last year, and made 2 each of 4 different patterns of graphic Christmas trees.  Each tree is decorated with a different type of red bling, and the tags are die cut from Paper Smooches Quote Die.

Well, that's it for me today.

A Pair of Tags

Hello--I have a quick post to share  two tags I made to participate in my friend Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

First up is a tag I made using some images from Avery Elle Snow Much Fun, paper piecing and a new tag die from PTI.  I love all the cute images in this Avery Elle set.  I was inspired by the cute samples on Day 1 of Tracey's challenge.

I am also linking this tag up at the Avery Elle Challenge #30.

I was inspired by the Serendipity tags on Day 6 of Tracey's challenge when I made this next tag.

I used the neutral color scheme at ColourMe #96.

That's it for me today.
