Penguin Cheers

I am popping in quickly to post a card I made using this week's MFT Sketch Challenge #467.

Feels strange to be making a card after my month of mostly tags, but I think I am in the swing of things now.

Penguin Birthday Party

I created a fun summer pool party using MFT Penguins in Paradise, inspired by the color scheme at MFT Color Challenge #124 and the Along the Edge challenge at AAA Cards #147.  I am also linking up at Simon Says Monday Challenge: S is for....summer, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes, and Addicted to Stamps and More #356: Anything Goes.

Time Out #127...Reminder...Cheers

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is inspired by words.

I focused on the part of the quote about drinks and friends, and created this card with 2 penguin friends hanging out with their tropical mixed drinks.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is  Claire, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  CAS-ual Fridays is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week 249: Warm

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is warm.  I thought it would be fun to pull out my MFT penguin and put him in a very unlikely, and very warm, place.  I think this guy is at my beach right now.

I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #90: Embossing (a very subtle linen texture) and Simon Says Wednesday: Going Dotty.

Now it's your turn.  How does WARM inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Joyce (that's me)

We are sponsored this week by  STAMPlorations.

Our Guest Designer is Angie.

My Crafty Weekend

It's been a long time since I had a post like this--I am sharing a bunch of cards I made this weekend.

First up is this NY Skyline card that I made following the challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch #181.  I was also inspired by the skyline on the photo at Inkspirational #113.  I am going to New York with my oldest daughter in a couple of weeks, and I think this would be the perfect card for her as we start our trip.  I am also linking this card up at Simon Says  Wednesday Create a Scene.

The challenge at Less is More #285 is Repetition--so I stamped these little thread things from PTI Hanging by a Thread multiple times in some bold, bright and happy colors.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday where the toppings option is 'bold and bright', CAS on Sunday #87: Sequins and AAA Cards #69: One Stash Favourite--my favorite is to add texture to my cards with an impression plate.

My little penguin card is inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #245, and I am also entering at Addicted to Stamps and More #202:  Make Your Mark and Simon Says Monday Challenge: Flora and Fauna.

The challenge of stripes at Addicted to CAS #92 got me thinking about stripes, and I had this idea to make a US flag inspired map.   Not sure exactly what I will do with this card, but it did come out pretty close to what was in my head.  I used red and white striped paper and a US shaped die, as well as a postage stamp die cut, that I cut again on the left side with the US shaped die.  The background is PTI Postmarks and the sentiment is from Destination World Map.

I followed the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches #182 for my final card, flipping the sketch over, and using PTI Songbirds stamps and dies.

Happy Little Stampers October Sketch Challenge Reminder

There is still time to play along with the October challenge at Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch we have for you this month:

What to do when one can't decide between a fun winter scene or a tropical paradise?  Well, pull out MFT Penguins in Paradise, of course.  I made this cute little scene, coloring the images with Copics and then fussy cutting to arrange my scene atop some white die cut waves or sand dunes.

Please visit the Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge blog for more ideas and inspiration for this sketch.  I hope you will play along.  You have until the end of October.

I am also linking this up at Virginia's View #19:  All Things Colored and The 30 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker.

Tag You're It #32....Cheers

Hello there.  It's time for a new challenge at Tag You're It!  Our inspiration tag this week is provided by Kelly Szafron and it is a fun one.

I just love that adorable Santa that Kelly colored as her focal point.  Especially his gigantic beard and tiny feet.  Anyway, I was inspired by how Kelly's tag was adorned with only a single colored image, the fun stuff going on in her card background and her die cut sentiment.

I used PTI Tag Sale #3 to cut a tag out of water color paper, stamped it with one of the penguins from MFT Penguins in Paradise and colored it with my Zig Aqua Brush pens.  I went with a textured background using PTI Coverplate Waves and a die cut sentiment cut from more water color paper painted with the same Zig pen as the drink flower.

I hope that you will join in on the fun at Tag You're It this week and make a tag.  Head on over to the Tag You're It blog to see more inspiration and to link up your creation.

I am also linking this tag up at Virginia's View #19 and The 30 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker.
