Two Birthday Cards

Happy Monday.  I'm popping in to post 2 birthday cards I made yesterday.

First up is a card I made, inspired by this colorful card by Melissa for the PTI new product release.  She used the new pen stamp, and I used Pencil Me In.  I just love the way this card turned out, but I have to tell you that I was holding my breath by the end.  So much stamping and lining up, and I was really afraid I'd mess it up and then have to start all over again.

By the time I got all the pencils stamped, I was too scared to stamp a sentiment, so I opted for a die cut sentiment.

I am entering this card at PTI Create Along with Us, CASual Fridays #194: Beautiful Rainbows, and Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes.

I was inspired by the color challenge at Paper Players #384: Any Shade of Pink to pull out a bunch of different shades of pink paper and my MFT Jungle Friends dies to get started on my next card.

I am also entering this card at CAS(E) This Sketch #262, AAA Cards #110: Ombre and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Girl Power.

That's it for me today.  Come back tomorrow, when I'll be posting the new CASology challenge for this week.

ColourQ #353....Happy Birthday

It's time for another color challenge at ColourQ.

What an adorable top from Gymboree.  I miss the days of shopping at Gymboree for my daughters.

I did some background stamping in this week's colors on a panel cut on the diagonal.  I used the little mini set from PTI called One Big Happy.  Added a sentiment partly die cut and partly stamped and fussy cut, a bit of texture, and this card was done.

Please head over to the ColourQ blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I hope you will play along this week.

My Crafty Weekend

I did not stray too far from Lizzie's example when I created my card for Make it Monday #239: Customizing Patterned Paper.

I started with the red and white polka dotted pattern paper, and added Memento Grey Flannel circles to random white circles.  I purposely stamped the grey a little offset from the white.

I took my color inspiration from this week's Color Throwdown #180.

Tracey's Muse Card
I am so glad I had time to play along with Muse #153, because my good friend Tracey provided the inspiration this week.

I was inspired by Tracey's flowers--their placement, the colors and the gold outlines.

I started with a stamp from Unity Let Your Dreams Bloom, and heat embossed it in gold.  I used colored pencils to color the flowers and added a die cut sentiment and a few gold sequins.

I am also entering this card at AAA #58: Sequins.

I finally broke open one of the coloring books I bought a while back, cut a card sized piece and started coloring.  My design is a loose interpretation of this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #160, rotated 180 degrees.

I used Prisma Color pencils, and then added my sentiments with foam tape.

I am entering this at The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  One of these days, I am going to actually take the challenge, and color a little bit every day for 30 days.

CASology Week #183: Glitter

This is my second post for today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post,  please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.  This week, our cue word is Glitter.  I love glitter, but glitter does not always love me.  Or, maybe it loves me so much that it tries to stick to every part of me for days and days after I use it.

I decided to use some glitter washi tape this week.  It is a great way to use glitter without the mess.

I split my front panel, and stuck my glitter tape in the gap, adding texture to my card front before popping it up with foam tape.  I also added a little drop of gold glitter Stickles to the center of my little die cut flowers.

Now, it's your turn.  How does Glitter inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We are sponsored this week by DeNami Design.

Weekend Recap

Hello there.  I'm here to post a couple of cards I've made recently.

First up is a little floral number inspired by both this card by Kay Miller during the recent PTI release as well as the photo from Fusion's 2nd Anniversary Challenge.

Kay's Card

My Card

From Fusion, I was inspired by the flowers, the colors and the yellow chevrons.  From Kay's card, I was inspired by her overall card design as well as the little copic dots she used on her card.  My dots were not as subtle as Kay's but I do think I shared her fear as I also added my dots after the card was otherwise complete.

I am also entering this card at PTI Create Along with Us,  Curtain Call, where the challenge is 'Girly' and Just Add Ink #294:  Add Something New (One Big Happy stamps and dies are new on this card).

My dear friend Jeanne sent me a very fun die for Christmas, and I have used it here on this card that I plan to enter at The Male Room #26: Anything Goes and Seize the Birthday where the topping is Clean and Simple.

Inkspirational is celebrating their 100th challenge with a Colour Blast from the past.  I used color scheme #87--Anything Goes with Kraft.

My last card uses 2 new dies--a tag die from Reverse Confetti and the Boxed Up Thanks from Lil Inker.  I used a piece of ombre paper from a big pad I bought at Michaels for the tag as well as the background.

I just realized that there is no stamping on this card.  I need to remember this if I ever see a 'no stamping' challenge.

I am entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Ombre challenge and Addicted to Stamps and More #176 Anything Goes.
