Time Out #180...Reminder...Curl Up

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by these words:

"In the winter she curls up around a good book and dreams away the cold"

I was inspired by the idea of curling up with a good book, and made a card using sponsor stamps Newton's Nook Book Club.  My card is very simple...I used the image of sweet Newton curled up asleep on a pile of books--I didn't even have to do any masking--and then I colored everything with Copic markers.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Bobby and the Time Out Design Team.  Newton's Nook Designs is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I'm starting out with a card that is a total CASE of my friend Lindsey's card here.  I used a mask with a circle cut out in combination with a mask of a NYC die cut to create my focal point.  I sponged a night sky using an ombre collection of Distress inks, then added my Santa sleigh and reindeer up in the sky and my sentiment down below.  It's hard to see in this photo, but I used WOS to add glitter to my Santa sleigh and reindeer.

I am entering this card at ABC Christmas: U is for Up in the Air, Just Us Girls #557: Ombre, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Make it Sparkle.

AAA Cards #176 asks for a card with a cozy scene in the corner.  I had two ideas for this challenge.  Here is the first, using Mama Elephant Sincerely Yours stamps and a PTI cover plate for dry embossing.

I am also entering this card at WWC292 and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Dry Embossing.

Here is my second idea for AAA Cards #176, using Newton's Nook Book Club for this card. I am also entering this card at Festive Friday #69: (cat, embossing, clean & simple) and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Dry Embossing.

Last up are 2 very quick to make cards inspired by the colors at Color Hues #3 and the challenge at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Make it Sparkle.

I used a 3D embossing folder I just got from Altenew and a technique from this video of Jennifer McGuires.  I 'swinked' my gold Delicata ink directly onto the embossed card stock--only the very highest layer got just a touch of gold.  I am also entering this at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Dry Embossing.

Last up is the other card for Color Hues #3.  I was also inspired for this card by the challenge at Ink to Paper to make a 'beautifully simple card'.  I stamped the largest butterfly from PTI Ever So Much in Gold Delicata ink on cream card stock.  I am also entering this card at Inkspirational #223: Angle it.

Hello There and Happy Birthday

Hello and happy Tuesday.  I'm popping in quickly to share 2 cards I made this week.  First up is a card inspired by the colors at The Paper Players #503 and the challenge at Simon Says Monday: Summer Memories (last summer, we went to Portugal, and these multi colored houses on a hillside remind me of Porto).

I used a stamp from Mama Elephant Scene Builders and colored with Copics.

My next card was inspired by the sketch challenge at Inky Paws #129 and Just Us Girls #548: Die Cut a Window.  I made a slimline card using the cats from Newton's Nook Book Club and also the snuggling cat and dog together from Porch Swing Friends.

I used Slim Line Window Dressing dies from Mama Elephant to cut the windows and curtains for my sweet critters.

I am finding that the slimline cards are a bit tough to photograph.  Here are some close ups of each of the three windows.

The middle window.

And the final window on the right.

Time Out #166...Reminder...Curl Up with a Good BOOK!

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by the word PEACEFUL.

Nothing more peaceful than curling up with a good book....whether or not you are actually even reading it!  I love to read, so this little kitty dozing on the bookshelf, from Book Club by our sponsor, Newton's Nook was the perfect image for me.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Time Out #159...Reminder...relax . read . repeat

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  This week, we challenge you to be inspired by the words below...

How true this quote is.  I am a big reader, and there is nothing better for me than curling up with a good book.  If I can read outside in my garden, all the better.

On this card, I am joined in my reading by this very sweet cat by our sponsor, Newton's Nook, who can be found in Newton's Book Club stamps.  This cat looks so very relaxed.  I wonder if he knows that my pup, Sherlock is giving him the stink eye?

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Lee Ann, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge. Newton's Nook is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

Crafting before the Superbowl

Popping in quickly to post a few cards for several challenges.

First up is a get well card that I made for Sherlock to send to my youngest daughter, as she currently has a cold.

I am entering this card at Freshly Made Sketches #420, Color Throwdown #578, Simon Says Monday Challenge:  All Loved Up, Paper Players #476: Love is in the Air, and AAA Cards #158: Up to 1/3 plus optional twist hearts.

Next up is a get well card, inspired by the challenge at CAS on Friday #172 and Addicted to Stamps and More #374: CAS.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Anything Goes.

Last up is a card inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #357 and the January challenge at A Blog Named Hero: Anything Goes.

That's it for me today.  I don't have interest in the superbowl, but do enjoy the commercials....that's where I'll be this afternoon.
