Retro Sketches #83, Simon Says Wednesday, Insider Class, and Just For Fun

When I saw this sketch for this week's Retro Sketches rs#83, I knew I would play along.  I love this sketch as a way to use some hoarded patterned papers.  I have been loving the colors and patterns in my new Lawn Fawn Into the Woods paper, so that is what I used.

I have been a terrible student so far.  I have only watched a few videos from the Insider Card Class, and have finally made one thing.  I took the Bat Mitzvah card that I showed here, and made a fun little envelope inside to hold the check that was our gift.

I used the Seed Packet Die, and cut the top off with the pinking die.  Then I made a little pull tag with a strip of folded paper and a stamp from Movers and Shakers.

My last card for today is just for fun.  I wanted to play a bit more with my new Bubble Talk set.  I was inspired to make this pattern paper border by this card by Maile Belles.

I am entering all three cards into this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge of Anything Goes.

  1. Tee hee, Joyce ... you and me both with the Insider Class ... if it was regular school I'd be in detention!! Gorgeous colours on the LF DP, the embossed gift pocket is stunning and your JFF card is just that ... fun and happy! Anita :)

  2. Love all three of your cards and I am a bad student for this Insider Class as well, though we just returned from Disney on Friday night so I think I have a good excuse. haha

  3. Joyce...I love all of your cards, so fun! Happy to know I am in very good company in school, I guess all of us at the cool table skipped school. I love your card border, how did I miss that one! But I will be making plenty of these, so fabulous! I love your RS card too, that design is amazing and like you said a great use for all the patterned paper that I know you hoard!

  5. LOVE your take on the Retro sketch! Great color and so modern. Lol, don't worry about the class - I'm right there with you! I watched Day 1 and that was it. Too short for me to keep up. Love what you've done so far in the class. Let's make a pact to keep going even though its over!

  8. Love the design on your birthday card. I've been meaning to try that. It looks so great and really would be a great use for my patterned paper stash! I tried a funky border on one of my 12 Kits cards. It's another way to play with different patterns.

  10. I love the RS card, I'll be making one, too. And the border on the other one caught my attention when I saw Maile do it. I did not sign up for class this time as I rarely do anything on the inside of my cards. I hope I don't regret it when I see what the rest of you do.
