Make it Monday #43: Happy Birthday

I am here with a card for this week's Make it Monday #43, where Dawn teaches us how to make a pleated ribbon border for our projects.  You can see the video here.

This is my first time trying this technique, and I have to say, my ribbon looks more scrunched than pleated.  However, I am still happy with the way the card came out.  Let's just call these pleats 'unique'.  I based the layout of this card on this card by Laurie at Soapbox Creations.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Communique Curves Sentiments, Fillable Frames
Paper:  White, Raspberry Fizz, Black & White Basics Patterned Paper
Other:  Fillable Frames Die, Sunshine IP, Raspberry Fizz Saddle Stitch Ribbon

Thanks for Visiting

  10. I haven't watched the video yet, but it sure looks pleated to me. Even if it weren't, it sure is gorgeous. Love the patterned paper you used, black and pink are always so pretty together.

  19. Joyce, what a gorgeous card. Congrats on winning PTI's MIM #43! Isn't it fun picking out a "free" stamp set? Just was one of the winners myself from the November Blog Hop and selected "In The Meadow." It was a hard decision as my wish list is quite long! Anyway, congratulations and enjoy!
