Today I have a card for a very special friend I met in blogland. Her name is Janelle, and many of you probably know her. She has been bravely battling brain cancer, and you can read more about her story and also see some of her crafty creations here.
I recently bought a stamp set called Hope from Paper Smooches. They were donating 50% of the proceeds to cancer research, and it seemed like a set that, unfortunately, would be a good one to have on hand. I decided to make my first card with that set for Janelle. I was inspired by a card I saw by Maile Belles using a similar set from PTI.
It was news to me that each cancer has it's own color. Brain cancer is grey. That seemed kind of dismal, so I decided to take some liberty with that, and used a beautiful silver shimmer paper to make this card. I paired that with Royal Velvet.
Here is a peek inside the card:
If you have been following Janelle's blog, you know about her sweet tooth and her love for Pinkberry. I tucked a gift card for Pinkberry behind an embossed silver ice cream cone. Much less messy than sending her a cup of yogurt all the way from California.
