CASology Week #236: Romance

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is ROMANCE.  What a perfect cue word for today.  Happy Valentine's Day to all my friends.

I found a tutorial on Jennifer McGuire's blog and I used it to make this Die Cut Gate Fold Card.

I used a swirly heart die from Simon Says that I found in my stash, and some text texture for the sides of the gate.  My sentiment is on vellum, which can be slipped off to open the card.

Now it's your turn.  How does ROMANCE inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Happy Valentine's Day and Sending Hugs

Crafty time today!  I made a Valentine today, inspired by a couple of challenges, including the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #208 and more especially by Jen Mitchell's card.

I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #83, Addicted to Stamps and More #228: Holiday, The Paper Players #339, Just Add Ink #346: Just Add 2--and I added hearts and flowers, Simon Says Monday Young at Heart, and Retro Rubber #55: Heart (my sentiment stamp is from last year).

My second card for today was inspired by this bright and fun card from Anita over at Muse #202.

Anita's Inspiration Card
I was inspired by Anita's all over stamping, bright colors, and inlaid built up die cut sentiment.  I stamped a random pattern of dog silhouettes in primary colors, and then die cut 'HUGS' from that panel.

I die cut hugs twice more out of red, and then glued them together and placed them back in.  Here is a close up of the die cut area.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday: Cute, Addicted to CAS #104: Pets, and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies February.

Time Out #76...Reminder...Thinking About You and Smiling

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is an inspired by words challenge, and we have the following quote to inspire you:

'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart'

I used a sentiment stamp from our sponsor, CAS-ual Fridays called Lovely Greetings to make a card to send to a friend. This time, I played on the heart in the quote, die cutting, building up and inlaying a heart.

You can see how the heart is raised up with a few layers of red.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Jane, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge. CAS-ual Fridays Stamps  is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #235:Hero

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is HERO.  I really struggled with this word, especially since I did not have any superhero or even giant sandwich stamps.

I went in a different direction, and thought to use a stamp from Hero Arts, one of my favorite stamp companies.

I used the Hero Arts Leafy Vine stamp to stamp a subtle, tone-on-tone background on my card front. I added a die cut sentiment, and my CAS card was done.  Luckily, I do not currently have a use for this card, but I like to have a stash of sympathy cards on hand.

Now it's your turn.  How does HERO inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Birthdays and Babies

I am sneaking away from Superbowl commercials to post three cards I made this weekend.  I'll be brief...

First up is a card that combines a brand new stamp and die (Celebrate) with one of my oldest favorite (Dot Spot).  I am playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch #207,  Inkspirational #127: Polka Dots, and Happy Little Stampers February CAS Challenge:  Blue.

With this next card, I am playing along, for the first time (I think) with MFT Color Challenge #62Simon Says Monday Pet's Corner and Addicted to CAS #104: Pets.  Now, I realize that elephants are a very non traditional pet, but these were the dies I really wanted to use, and I am sure that there is someone somewhere with a couple of pet elephants.

Last up is a card inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink #345 and the colors at Color Throwdown #428.

That's it for me this week.

Everything Will Be Okay and Birthday Wishes

I've got a quick post with two cards I made this week.  First up is a card inspired by this beauty over at Muse #201 by Valentyna.

Valentyna's Inspiration Card

I was inspired by the pink flowers and greenery and the way the flowers hug the corner and sort of embrace the sentiment.

My second card is very similar to the inspiration card at this week's Make it Monday #274, where we are encouraged to die cut our patterned paper.  I dug deep into my stash of PTI patterned papers and found some Guidelines papers to use for this card.

I am also linking this card up at Less is More #313 where the challenge is balloons, and Addicted to CAS #103:  Wish.

Time Out #76...You're Wonderful

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out.

I stamped a very light clock face in the background, playing off the theme of time in the quote.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer.
