Guest Designer...CAS Colours & Sketches #201...Just For You

This is my last week to play along with the team at CAS Colours & Sketches as their Guest Designer for the month of November.

This week, we have a sketch challenge for you.

I rotated the sketch 90 degrees counter clockwise and changed the orientation.  The result is my card that I made to look like a rustic and festive gift.

Please had on over to CAS Colours & Sketches to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I hope you will play along with us this week.

CASology Week 225: Soft

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is soft.  Perhaps it is the season, but I was thinking of snow...falling softly, creating soft and puffy snowdrifts.  Those of you who live where it actually snow may want to set me straight on this one. Until then, I am sticking with my softly falling snow flakes.

I stamped some bare birch trees on a card front, and then used a falling snow stencil and embossing paste to create my softly falling snow.  I used a stitched landscape die to create my snowdrift.

Now it's your turn.  How does soft inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday where the challenge is Christmas Critters and Paper Players #322 where the challenge is Clean and Simple Christmas.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

My Crafty Weekend

I fell in love with this card by Betsy during the PTI release, and so decided to CASE it for the PTI Play Along With Us challenge.  I used Doodlie Do stamps heat embossed in white on Dark Indigo card stock.

The toppings at Seize the Birthday are presents, and I used PTI Gifts of the Season for my next card.

I spent the most time playing with the sweet mice from PTI Christmas Critters.  I have been pretending that these mice are actually rats--many people do not know that (domesticated) rats make great pets--they are very sweet and cuddly, too.

The rats (mice) on the next three cards are colored to look like the 2 rats we had as pets.  Ivy is the grey one and Ace is the tan one.

Here we see Ivy on a card that I am entering at CAS on Sunday #96 where the challenge is pets, Simon Says Wednesday where the challenge is Christmas Critters, and The Paper Players #322 where the challenge is Clean and Simple Christmas.

This next card stars Ace and uses the sketch at the Fusion Challenge, and I am also linking up at  Simon Says Wednesday where the challenge is Christmas Critters, and The Paper Players #322 where the challenge is Clean and Simple Christmas.

And finally, we have Ace and Ivy (brothers) celebrating their birthday.  I am linking this one up at Seize the Birthday with the topping of presents.

That's it for me today.  I am off to take my current pet, Sherlock, to the dog park for a romp with his friends.  I think he may be a bit peeved with me for showcasing the pet rats and not him on my pet cards today.  I hope to have some time later this week to dive into my many dog stamps to make a card that features a canine.

Guest Designer...CAS Colours & Sketches #200...Peace and Strength

I am so pleased to be playing along with the team at CAS Colours & Sketches as their Guest Designer for the month of November.

This week, we have a color challenge for you.

I used my Zig markers to create an ombre panel with the three shades of blue, and then cut it with a butterfly cover plate.

I am also linking this up at Addicted to CAS #101: Ombre.

Please had on over to CAS Colours & Sketches to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I hope you will play along with us this week.

Time Out #70...Reminder...Celebrate

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is a home sweet home challenge where we have this photo to inspire you.

There are so many ways to be inspired by this photo--the gold butterfly on the wall, pink sofa, pillows, the geometric pattern on the mirror, the roses in the left corner, or perhaps the birdcage on the floor?

I chose to take my inspiration from the large gold butterfly dominating the wall in the photo.  As I did not have a butterfly stamp or die big enough to be the kind of focal point I was thinking of, I decided to randomly stamp gold butterflies all over my card front.  I used my favorite butterfly from the Happy Little Stampers Butterfly Birthday set.

I am also entering this card at Anything Goes with HLS Stamps.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Hazel, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

CASology Week #224...Embrace

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is embrace.

I immediately thought of a hug.  I die cut the word 'hugs' and sponged purple ink into the negative space behind my die cut.

I am also linking this card up at Addicted to CAS #101: Ombre.

Now it's your turn.  How does embrace inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

ColourQ #368...Best Wishes

It's time for another challenge at ColourQ.

This week we have a beautiful fall palette to inspire you.  I used brown and green ink and orange and yellow colored pencils on my card today.  It was really quick to make, which is good because I was very short on time.

Please head over to the ColourQ blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I hope you will play along this week.

Two Flat Card Sets

Hello.  I was inspired by the challenge at Make it Monday #267 where we were encouraged to use assembly line card making.  I made two note card sets and a little pouch to hold them.  I stamped all the envelopes with just the tree and little bird, and you can see one of the envelopes in the upper right of this photo.

Each set contains 4 thank you cards--flat cards made from 1/4 piece of card stock.  The sentiment is from Wet Paint and the other images are from Holiday Folk.  I will enter these thank you cards at Simon Says Wednesday where the challenge is Thanks/Thanksgiving.

The other 4 cards all say just a note, and use the same stamps as the thank you cards.

Here is how the two sets look all packaged up.  I used a tutorial I saw at Splitcoast Stampers, although it turns out that the tutorial was for 4x4 cards, so I modified the measurements to fit my A2 sized cards.  The stamped bow is from Avery Elle Beautiful Bow.

I am going to enter these card sets at Addicted to Stamps and More #219

This is what the pouches look like when they are opened up.
