Guest Designer: Addicted to CAS #76....Spooky

I am so happy today to be joining in on the fun as a Guest Designer at Addicted to CAS.  We have a very fun challenge this week, and one that is so very fitting as we near the end of October and get closer to Halloween.

I used Petite Places stamps and dies to create a spooky little CAS scene on my card.

What do you think?  I hope you will play along with me at Addicted to CAS and create something spooky.

Please head over to the Addicted to CAS blog to see more spooky inspiration and to play along with our challenge.

Time Out #42....Reminder...Rest.Relax.Recover

Hello!  There is still time to play along with us at Time Out.  This week, our challenge is Home Sweet Home and we are inspired by this photo.

I must admit that I am feeling pretty DONE with Halloween.   I challenged myself to take inspiration from this photo and not make a Halloween card.  I chose to focus on the chevron pattern on one of the pumpkins and the black, orange and white color scheme.

I used the rock and roll inking technique to ink up these PTI Vintage Linen flowers in Orange Zest edged in Terracotta Tile.  I used a strip of chevron patterned paper as a border, and added burlap texture to my card front.

I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us.  Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team and also visit our Guest Designer TaeEun.

CASology Week #169: Zombie

This is my second post for today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post,  please click here.

Hello and happy Tuesday.  Time for another challenge at CASology.  This week, our cue word is Zombie.

I had to stretch myself and get creative with this cue word, as I could not find an actual zombie stamp in my vast stash of stamps.  I decided to use this mummie die cut that Jessica sent to me as part of last month's 12 Kits of Occasions--I think that a mummy dressed like a pirate with a couple of festive bandages and one googlie eye qualifies as a zombie--what do you think?

Now, it's your turn.  How does ZOMBIE inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We are sponsored this week by Concord and Ninth.

ColourQ #313...Hope

If you are looking for my CASology post, please click here.

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at ColourQ.   It is wonderfully fitting to have this pink color palette to work with, as October is breast cancer awareness month, and I have been seeing pink everywhere I go.

I used the smallest paint image in Brushed Off to create a backdrop for my die cut hope sentiment and ribbon.  To add interest to this card, I cut my front panel, and adhered my die cuts over the opening.  After adding a bit of texture and some sequins, my card was done.

Please head on over to the ColourQ challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team.  I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.

Weekend Wrap Up...2 Cards for Fun Challenges

A quick post to say good bye to the weekend and hello to the week.  I managed to make two cards for various challenges (plus a couple of cards for design teams that I will share later in the week).

First up is a card for Avery Elle #19:  Think Pink, and I used their Beautiful Bow set once again.

Playing around a little with my photos--here is another shot of the same card.

I am also entering this at Addicted to Stamps and More #166:  Anything Goes.

.

The challenge at Happy Little Stampers CAS for October is Paper Piecing--which I love to do and have not done in a while.  I used a couple of the cute critters from AE Snow Much Fun and some Doodlebug paper to make my next card.

Speaking of Happy Little Stampers, Kylie is offering free shipping anywhere until 10/25.  Click here to take advantage of this wonderful discount.

I am also linking this up at Little Tangles #61 where the challenge is Paper Piecing  (thanks Jen).

Weekly Wrap Up...Three Cards for Fun

Good morning and happy Saturday.  I hope everyone has fun weekend plans.  I finally have a day without DT scheduled posts, and so I am taking advantage of the break to post a few cards I have made just for fun (gasp!) over the course of this week.

First up is a card I made for Addicted to CAS #74 Sparkle Challenge.  I used Avery Elle Beautiful Bows and some sparkly gold ink for my card--I was going for the stacked gift look.

Next up is a card I made inspired by one of the cards posted by Dawn during the PTI release festivities this week.  Dawn's card used a new stamp set that seemed pretty similar to a set I bought last year from PTI called Fair Isle Motifs.  I used a single image from the set, and put my Misti to work getting everything (mostly) lined up and stamped across the entire card front.  I used Peaceful Pinecones in place of the greenery Dawn used.  I am entering this card at Create Along With Us.

Dawn's Card

I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #166:  Anything Goes.

Last up--a card with Copic Coloring featuring my newest Serendipity stamp--this fantastic sentiment which I have wanted forever.  The challenge at Serendipity Stamps  SSCB#48: What's New was the perfect challenge to get me to put some ink on this new stamp.

I am also entering this card at Virginia's View #19:  All Things Colored, The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge and Marker Pop #79:  Anything Goes.

Tag You're It #32....Reminder Post...Stay Warm

Hello there.  There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Tag You're It!  Our inspiration tag this week is provided by Kelly Szafron and it is a fun one.

I kept my card design very similar to Kelly's and also had one main image on my tag.  I used one of the polar bears from MFT Cool Day and colored his scarf and hat with Copics.  I used some die cuts from the Memory Box Ribbon Candy Border behind my tag--I kept some of the strands white and colored 2 of them with the same green Copic marker as I used on the tag.

I hope that you will join in on the fun at Tag You're It this week and make a tag.  Head on over to the Tag You're It blog to see more inspiration and to link up your creation.

I am also linking this tag up at Virginia's View #19 and The 30 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker.

Time Out #42...Trick or Treat

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Time Out.  This week, our challenge is Home Sweet Home and we are inspired by this photo.

I was inspired by the orange, black and white color scheme as well as the idea of Halloween.  I did not intend for this card to involve only die cuts and no stamping, but that is just the direction it took. I coated the black die cut bat with black WOS, and it is much more visible in person.

I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us over the next two weeks.  Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team and our Guest Designer TaeEun.

I am also linking up at AAA Cards #50:  Clean and Simple Halloween.

Happy Little Stampers October Sketch Challenge Reminder

There is still time to play along with the October challenge at Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch we have for you this month:

What to do when one can't decide between a fun winter scene or a tropical paradise?  Well, pull out MFT Penguins in Paradise, of course.  I made this cute little scene, coloring the images with Copics and then fussy cutting to arrange my scene atop some white die cut waves or sand dunes.

Please visit the Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge blog for more ideas and inspiration for this sketch.  I hope you will play along.  You have until the end of October.

I am also linking this up at Virginia's View #19:  All Things Colored and The 30 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker.
