My Crafty Week

I had a super crafty week.  This week, I went to Camp Create at MFT for the first time.

I earned 4 badges so far, and hope to complete the 5th tomorrow.

Day 1 was Wonderful Watercolor and I made a watercolor sky behind my New York city skyline.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to 'Make Your Own Background'.

Day 2 at Camp Create was Remarkable Resist, and I made this card by heat embossing Roses All Over with white embossing powder and then blending a variety of blue and green Distress inks.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to 'Make Your Own Background'.

Day 3 at Camp Create was Spectacular Shakers  and I used supplies from the Good Time To Wine card kit for my card.  This was the first time I have ever used shaker pouches for a shaker card, and I am completely convinced.  I have never successfully created a shaker card that actually shook, and these pouches made it so easy.

Those shaker wine glasses were so fun and easy to make that I made another card with them and I am entering it at Seize the Birthday (no toppings).

Day 4 at Camp Create was Glitzy Glitter and I used the colors from MFT Color Challenge #121 to create my card.  I liked the suggestions on how to use just a bit of glitter to avoid a glittery mess, and I used glitter washi tape over my sentiment and Gold Stickles as my candle flames.

I just received a set of tiny adorable pandas from Mama Elephant, and they were perfect for this week's challenge at Less is More #400:  Small Images.  A special thank you to Michelle, whose DT card most directly inspired this card.  I used colors from Just Us Girls #497 and am also entering this card at AAA Birthday #3: For the Girls.

That card led to this card, also inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #397.  I am also entering this card at Just Add Ink #466, where the colors and the Christmas theme were my inspiration, Shopping Our Stash #400:  Christmas in July, The Male Room #115: Christmas in July and also Less is More #400:  Small Images.

And, now for the sad part.  I needed a few pet sympathy cards this week, and also had to replenish my stock of that type of card.

This card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #331.

I am entering this card at Paper Players #451: Masculine and AAA Cards #145:  One Image.

And lastly, I am entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Animal Magic.

CASology Week #179: Simple

This is my second post for today.  If you are looking for my ColourQ post,  please click here.

Happy New Year and welcome back.  It's time for another challenge at CASology.  This week, our cue word is SIMPLE.  We are starting out the new year with a little reminder that our challenge is a Clean and Simple challenge.  What better way than to have SIMPLE as our cue word.

I needed a pet sympathy card the other day, and had none on hand.  So, I pulled out a few stamp sets and made enough to last me a very long time (forever, I hope).

Now, it's your turn.  How does SIMPLE inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

We are sponsored this week by Cindy B. Designs.

Here are two more CAS pet sympathy cards, made during the same crafting session to add to my stash.

I am entering one of these cards at Less is More #257, where the challenge is neutral colors.

CASology Week 129: NBUS

Hello and happy Tuesday.  I am just so excited today because we have a special challenge going on this week at CASology.  We are teamed up with none other than Darnell of djkardkreations.  Our cue word this week is a word (more like an acronym) made up by Darnell herself--NBUS.  It stands for Never-before-used-schtuff.

So, grab something new, and start creating.  It can be something you just bought, or something you bought ages and ages ago--the choice is yours.  But, I'm sure you've got something on hand that you HAD to have at the time, and now is sitting unloved.  Pull it out and give it some love. Then, post your beautiful creation here and over at Darnell's, where she is hosting a NBUS Challenge #3.

I am ashamed to admit that I had a hard time deciding what to use, as I have many, many choices.  In the end, I decided to use a set of Impression Obsession cat dies, as I spoke to a good friend over the weekend, and she is about to say goodbye to her cat of 15 years.

Will you play along this week?  I sure hope so.  What NBUS will you pull out?   Check out the beautiful designs from the CASology Design Team members and see how they were inspired by NBUS.  You can link up at CASology as well as over at Darnell's.  Don't forget to keep your card Clean and Simple, if you are playing along with CASology.

Winter Wishes, Make it Monday and More

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  I'm here with a few things I was able to create this week. First up is one last holiday card--probably the last for a while.  I used the colors from this week's Colour Me challenge.

I am playing along at the Serendipity Stamps Sparkle and Shine challenge with my next card, and I also used the sketch at RetroSketches.

My next three cards use the stamped border technique from this week's Make it Monday #194.

I am also entering this next card at Seize the Birthday.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday has an anything goes challenge this week, and so I am entering all 5 cards over there.

That's it for me today.
