CASology #400...Affection

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is AFFECTION.

This cue word made me want to pull out a really old die from PTI Love Lives Here and pair it with a sentiment from a newer Hero Arts MMH kit.  I played around with colors and just found three that I liked together.  I've got the houses with hearts cut out, which reminds me of how much I love my neighborhood, but I would love it more if some of my besties would move in next door.

Now it's your turn.  How does AFFECTION inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from our design team.

New Home and an Inspirational Dog

Hi there.  Just a really quick post today--I have a card inspired by both the photo and the color scheme at ColourQ #297.

I am also linking this card up at Happy Little Stampers CAS Stamping Challenge and Simon Says Wednesday Going Dotty.

I used a brand new to me Serendipity stamp for this next card.  This image just makes me smile.  I followed the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #130.

I am also linking this card up at Serendipity Challenge #44: My Guy.

Three New Cards

Happy New Year everyone.  I've got a few cards to share today.  First up is a card using some NBUS that I'm linking up to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3.  My NBUS is a Studio Calico Chevron Mask stencil, and I'm not saying when I got it.  I am also linking up to Virginia's View Challenge #11: Clean Slate because of all the white space on this card.

I used this temporary adhesive recommended by Jennifer McGuire and have to say that it made all the difference.  I was able to sponge all around the stencil without having the bits of plastic shift around.  I used various Distress Inks in a rainbow color scheme.  I used this sketch from the January PTI Inspiration Archive.

My next card is for the Make it Monday #195: A La Carte challenge.  I decided to use Make it Monday #176:  Backgrounds with Embossing Paste for my card.  I used the same stencil as in the card above, and colored my embossing paste with Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest and Pure Poppy reinkers.  I purposely only did part of the card front.

My last card is for the challenge Kara is holding on her blog to celebrate her 200th week of the Friday Inspiration File.  Kara has challenged us to choose a pin from the file and create a project.  I chose to case this card from Betsy Veldman.  I am also celebrating with ColourMe and their ColorMe...One year anniversary party.  I chose #34, and used Baja Breeze, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral.

I'm linking up all three cards at Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.

Well, that's it for me today.

Crafting Just For Fun

Everyone in my household has either been gone or busy this weekend, which gave me a chance to play around in my craft room.  I got to make cards for some of my favorite challenges, which I have ignored for the last two weeks as I got caught up in the Papertrey 6th Anniversary festivities.

First up are three cards for this week's CAS-ual Friday's challenge CFC90:  Black & White Plus 1.

This next card is also for Dynamic Duos DD#40, and I used PTI Hawaiian Shores in place of Tempting Turquoise, and skipped the dessert option of clouds.  I had completely forgotten that I bought Friends Till the End and the dies off the PTI Forum, and I took it out today to play a bit.  Those dies make creating masks for those detailed flowers so easy.

And, finally my third card adds CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#15 to the list of challenges.  This particular card was inspired by Lisa's cards here.   She reminded me of the technique we learned in our Clean & Simple Card Making class about how to curve a sentiment around a circle, and she even showed me a perfect sentiment for that technique.

I have one more card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#15.  This card is also for this week's ColourQ cQc176.

I stamped the sentiment on a strip of vellum, and then adhered it inside the cut out circle, so it would run over the top of the stamped image.

I am entering my next card into this week's Simon Says Stamps challenge, which is White on White, and to use a Cuttlebug folder if possible.

Last, but not least--I saw that Kim had cased Renee's card from yesterday.  That sounded like fun to me, so I cased both of them.

Well, that's it for me today.  I think I'm going to close up the craft room for the evening, and wait for my daughter to get home from her school trip.

PTI November, 2012 Blog Hop

The challenge for this month's Papertrey Blog Hop is to look for inspiration from a book or magazine cover.  I spent Thanksgiving week with my family relaxing in the sunshine at a resort in Arizona, and my Kindle almost never left my side.  I have the sort of Kindle that costs less because an advertisement is always on the screen when the Kindle is turned off.  So, I spent quite a bit of time looking at this:

It reminded me of the houses from Love Lives Here, which I had purchased back in July, but hadn't seen much ink yet.  My friend Cathy was kind enough to send me the dies, and I based my color scheme on some twine that Kim sent me a while back, and I wanted to use on the card.

It's a bit hard to see in this picture, but the red heart on the very end is popped up and covered with Diamond Stickles.

Enjoy the rest of the hop.  I'm pretty excited to see what everyone else has done.
