The 12 Kits of Occasions: May 2014

Happy Saturday.  I have been anticipating this day for a while now--it is time for the big reveal posting for our 12 Kits of Occasions group.  I was the hostess this month, and the theme I was assigned was 'In the Navy'--all things nautical and masculine.  I found some fabulous nautical themed paper from Fancy Pants, and built my kit around it.  It's big on primary colors, and I thought it would work well for Father's Day and masculine cards in general.

Here is a picture Kara took of the kit I sent out.  She makes it look so good.

I made 9 cards before I ran out of time.  I'm going to get right to the pictures, because there is a lot to look at here, and then all the other designers to hop to.

First I tried to get my Father's Day cards made.

I couldn't decide where to put a sentiment on this one, so I will just stamp something inside when I send the card out.

After the Father's Day cards were all done, I made a couple of Thank You cards.

Well, that's it for me.  I cannot wait to see what everyone else has done with my kit.  I think that the reveal day is always most exciting to me when it is my kit.  It is always so interesting to see what people make with the goodies I sent out.  A little nerve wracking as well.  If you would like to see the supplies list for this kit, please click here.

We are so lucky this month to have two fabulous guest designers, Lindsey and Sherrie.  Please make sure to visit them, too

Here is a list of all the other members of our 12 Kits of Occasions group.  Please visit them and see what they have created with my May kit.

Wonderful cards today. Love the CAS look of all of them. The one with the knot and stars is gorgeous. I loved the light house one as well. I am saving that paper for a new die that is coming out from Serendipity Stamps.
Next is my turn, my kits are never easy….:)

  8. Oh Joyce I just loved working with that fabulous kit that you sent to use, perfect papers, stamps and die cuts--thank you so so much. Now you created 9 amazing cards, I love all of those Father's Day themed. That patterned paper works so well with the theme. You fussy cut the rope perfectly, I wanted to and chickened out. I don't have a favourite but I know have to much inspiration to draw from!

  9. Wow! Joyce, so many gorgeous cards! I have to agree with Cathy, Navy really does suit you. You totally rocked your own kit, I just love it. You will have plenty of "manly" cards to use now too, something I do not have much of until your kit came along. I love the patterned paper and all your sweet little die cuts, so fun to play with. Thank you again for a fabulous and fun kit!

My fave is the very first with the fancy die cut background. The red white and blue are so classic and total winner! I love the layers of pattern paper on the Thanks and the way you mix the solids with the patterns! Wonderful! (just like I knew it would be!)

  19. First of all, Joyce, I loved this kit! It got me all set with Father's day cards and some manly birthday cards (which I desperately needed!). I definitely need to buy a few things from the kit, too! So that thanks card with the three types of patterned paper? LOVE IT!! I need to try that idea out because it is fabulous! Of course the first card with the awesome coverplate rocks, and then the diagonal card with the wood ship is coming in close behind :)
