Hi there and happy Friday. I am definitely looking forward to the weekend. I have two cards today, and they are both for this week's Make it Monday #138: Inlaid Die Cuts, as well as Simon Says Monday and Simon Says Wednesday where the challenge for both this week is Anything Goes.
I used an extra die cut 'happy' that I had left over from a previous Make it Monday challenge with graduated colors. It is a bit hard to see in this terrible photo, but the 'happy' word shades from light to darker pink.
And, another card for the Caring Hearts drive using the inlaid die cuts technique. This is actually my second iteration on this card. Turns out that striped paper is especially unforgiving of slightly crooked die cuts. Who knew? The second time I did this card, I reversed the order of the panels from what Betsy showed in her video. I cut the bottom panel first, making sure that the stripes were straight. Then, I cut the peace one liner die out of a piece that was bigger than I needed, adhered the Scarlet Jewel die cut, nestled the music panel around the die cut, and trimmed the excess off the top. Much straighter. Clear as mud?
