Three Birthday Cards

I've got three cards today, and they are all birthday cards, and will be entered into the Anything Goes challenge at Seize the Birthday as well as The Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

My first card uses the Defined Watercolors technique from this week's Make it Monday #125.  I used Rosie Posie, water color painted with some distress inks and then stamped just the edges.  I have to say that Erin made it look a little easier than it was.  After my front panel was complete, I realized I forgot to leave room for a sentiment, so I cut a banner out of vellum for my sentiment.

I decided to use this week's Color Throwdown CTD251 colors for my CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#37 card.  I was trying to decide what I could use instead of hexagon, and came up with the Rounded Diamonds dies from Avery Elle.  I went back and forth and couldn't decide whether to go for the small ones or medium ones, and finally decided to just make two cards and ask which one you think is better?

I used a variety of Impression Plates to add some texture and interest to my die cuts, and raised them up with some very small dimensional adhesives.  I repositioned the sentiment a bit from the sketch--it just seemed to fit better where I put it.

What do you think--do you have a preference?

  3. Joyce...what a wonderful trio of cards! Your final two cards are fabulous and I love that you did one in each size, they are both just wonderful and I can not choose which one I like most, they are both perfect! I love your MIM, that water coloring is beautiful using the flower from Rosie Posie.

  17. That flower is stunning, Joyce! I really love how you used the technique and I'm glad you forgot to leave space for the sentiment because the vellum banner is perfect!
As for the other cards they're both cool but if forced to choose at gunpoint I'd probably lean towards the second one. Love the texture you added to each shape. Thanks for playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!
