I had the entire house to myself all day today, and managed to make 4 cards before needing to dash off to pick my girls up from school.
My first card is for this week's Make it Monday 111: Watercoloring Embossed Images, Simon Says Stamp challenge of April Flowers, and this week's Tuesday Trigger of Magical Magnolias. I embossed the large flower bouquet image from Friendship Jar Spring Fillers, and then watercolor painted the image with PTI reinkers in Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Hibiscus Burst and Scarlet Jewel. The card really looks like a burst of springtime, which suits today's weather in San Diego to a 'T'.
Edited to add: I am linking the next three projects to the The Wonder of Watercolor Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Next up is my entry for this week's 10 Minute Craft Dash #15. I made this card in 8 minutes 6 seconds, which is actually much longer than I thought it would take, as it is a very simple card. The most time consuming parts--embossing the front panel, and cutting and applying all the dimensional foam bits to adhere the card front to the base. The actual stamping part probably took less than 1 minute. Interesting to see where the time actually goes.
I really liked the look of my simple birthday card, and decided to make another one, this time using the colors of this month's Cards Blog Challenge.
My last card is for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch CTS #23. My youngest daughter loves owls and soccer. Her dad is taking her to State Cup competition this weekend, while I stay home with our oldest. I will be tucking this card into her suitcase. Her team colors are Red, White and Black--Go Lightning!

Joyce all of your cards are just beautiful but that bouquet of tulips is just stunning. They look so real, you are so good at this watercolor thing too. Your 10 minute dash card it pretty cute too, but then I always love your work. I just can't get past that tulip card, just amazing!
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards, Joyce! The first one is a real stunner - the watercolouring looks amazing and I love the banner you used for the sentiment. The second and third are so bright and cheery and I especially love the one with the embossed background. And your CTS card is so perfect for your daughter. Love it! Thanks for playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!

Especially when I haven't even completed one card to show for my time in the craft room : ) Hope the State Cup is going well!
ReplyDeleteFour cards in one day! I am so jealous, Joyce! I tried to make something tonight but it all ended up in the trash.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the pattern that you stamped with those envelopes, and the colors in your watercolor cards are perfect & so fun. The sequins look great! The owl is just so cute, too.
Amazing cards, Joyce! Love them all!
