ColourQ #155

I have a card for this week's ColourQ #155.  I was inspired by a card I saw in the Papercrafts Design book, which was also recently posted here.  I wanted to try some color blocking using triangles.  I used the smaller of the two triangle dies from Tranquility Trilogy.

When I have more time, I think I'll try this with some of the triangle banner dies.  They are smaller, and I think it would be fun to see what kinds of patterns I could create.  This design reminds me of the pattern blocks my daughters used to play with years ago.

Supplies Used (PTI):
Stamps:  Tranquility Trilogy
Paper:  White, Autumn Rose, Lavender Moon, Simply Chargreuse, Lemon Tart
Other:  Tranquility Trilogy Die

Thanks for Visiting

  1. What a great way to use the color inspiration Joyce. I really like the look of the different triangles lined up together. Very good idea...you do really good with geometric shapes like the triangles and hexagons!

  7. Joyce, what a great way to use the colors! I have those dies and stamps, and I am saddened to say I have never used them. I tried once and got fed up and haven't pulled them out since (besides in the Christmas kit you sent us!). I have debated on selling them, but I really love the little box and think well I should keep the set since it coordinates with it! (although I've never used that either!)

  9. Looks great Joyce! I don't usually reach for purple, and I'm thinking "why not?". The triangle pattern looks awesome and I can't wait to see what it would look like with smaller triangles:) Hope you're having a great weekend!

  10. Awesome card. Love the colorblocking with those bold colors. Speaking of pattern blocks, next time you make the card try mixing it up with hexagons (6 triangles ) and trapazoids.

  14. Love this! So very graphic, and a great way to incorporate the colors! If you do end up playing around with triangles some more, I'd highly recommend the triangle banner dies. I made a couple cards with this and had a blast playing around. Here's a link if you get a chance: http://www.notablenest.blogspot.com/2012/05/trendy-triangles-mim-65.html
