Make it Monday and 10 Minute Craft Dash

Lucky me--I have had some unexpected crafty time, with both daughters in camp.  I have two cards to share here.  The first card is for this week's Make it Monday #78:  Stamping and Stitching on Paper.  This was a fun technique to learn, and was very easy, even for a gal who doesn't sew.

Hello

I was inspired by a card Nicole showed during the release of Fruit Fusion:  Cherries.  I used DMC floss #471 to sew the stems of the cherries.

My next card is for a new challenge:  The 10 Minute Craft Dash.  This challenge sounded like such fun.  And, I could hardly say that I didn't have time to participate.

In order to make a card in less than 10 minutes, I had to make something pretty simple, and something that I knew would work the first time.  Lots of times when I am making things up as I go, I need to try lots of things before I like the overall look.  I saw a this card, and immediately knew (hoped) that I could make something similar using my Chevron Dies.

Total time for this card was 8 minutes 19 seconds.  There is a great stopwatch timer at this site, that I used for this challenge.  I used this timer all summer when my daughter was practicing her speeches for summer school.  I was actually surprised how long it took me to make just 5 simple die cuts.

I am still celebrating my blogaversary this week.  If you have not been to my 'official blogaversary post', please go there now.  Help me celebrate one year of blogging, and leave a comment there to be eligible for a prize.

  2. At first, when I read your blog title, I thought you'd stitched the cherry stems for the 10 minute craft dash - oy! I was feeling all kinds of inadequate, lol. I love both cards - the chevron card is so wonderful with your mix of papers :)

  9. Love those stitched cherries! I am thrilled that there are non-sewing machine ways to add thread to a card!! But I still can't imagine a 10-minute card. I would probably be nervous wreck trying not to go past time! Love yours though--great chevron patterns!
