Finally.....Some Cards...

It feels like forever since I have sat down to make some cards just for fun, but that is what I did yesterday.  I've been spending lots of time knitting lately, and that has cut into my card making time.

I just returned from bringing my oldest to New York where she will spend the summer.  As you will see from this card and the next, I still have New York on my mind.  I am entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Vacation, as I have just returned from my first vacation of the summer in NYC.

Yes, NYC still on my mind, where I paired Concord & 9th City Stacks with Scooter Balloons from Lil Inker.

I was inspired by the sketch at CAS Colors and Sketches #325 and the colors at this week's Color Throwdown #547.  I am also entering at Seize the Birthday #167: Anything Goes.

Last up is a simple sympathy card inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #326.

My Crafty Roundup

This is a photo heavy post, so I'm going to get right into it.  I'll start with what I think may be my favorite card of the week.  This card took a while to construct, but I am happy with the way it came out.  I based it on something I saw somewhere, but cannot find again.  I white embossed the skyline from Concord & 9th City Stacks on various shades of grey paper and layered them up over a sky that I made with Distress Oxide ink and water.

I am entering this card at Where Creativity Meets C9 #24: Anything Goes.

Next up is a birthday card with an adorable elephant die that spouts 'real' water from Poppystamps.  I am entering this card at Poppystamps Challenge #47: Make a Splash, Freshly Made Sketches #349, CAS Colours & Sketches #284, and Seize the Birthday: Water.

My next card is inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #284.  I used the cute bunny and stars from CAS-ual Fridays Somebunny.

The inspiration photo from Inkspirational #167 had me drooling at the thought of ice cream.  Instead of eating ice cream, I finished this card, that I had started using some Hero Arts stamps I borrowed from Kim.

I used some stamps from Altenew Sketchy Cities America to make a few quick thank you card sets.  These are great to have around, and give just the right amount of space for my kids to write their "thank you's".

Featuring Boston....these are embossed in red...entering at Addicted to CAS #142: Masculine.

Featuring New York....these are embossed in silver...entering at Addicted to Stamps and More #304: CAS.

Next up is a card celebrating friendship, and I am entering it at AAA Cards #121: Friendship.

Still with me?  This card uses the 'Fast Watercolors' technique taught by Jennifer McGuire and is the challenge at Just Us Girls #453.  I am also entering it at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Distress it and Where Creativity Meets C9 #24: Anything Goes.

I used Lily by Concord & 9th and Abandoned Coral and Twisted Citron Distress Inks.

I am ending with a card made with the same stamps as my first card--Concord & 9th City Stacks.  I am definitely most obsessed with this stamp set these days.  A quicker and simpler card than my first card--black embossing and coloring with pencils.  I am entering this card at The Male Room #91: Birthday and Where Creativity Meets C9 #24: Anything Goes.

That's it for me today.

My Crafty Weekend

It's been a long time since I had a post like this--I am sharing a bunch of cards I made this weekend.

First up is this NY Skyline card that I made following the challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch #181.  I was also inspired by the skyline on the photo at Inkspirational #113.  I am going to New York with my oldest daughter in a couple of weeks, and I think this would be the perfect card for her as we start our trip.  I am also linking this card up at Simon Says  Wednesday Create a Scene.

The challenge at Less is More #285 is Repetition--so I stamped these little thread things from PTI Hanging by a Thread multiple times in some bold, bright and happy colors.  I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday where the toppings option is 'bold and bright', CAS on Sunday #87: Sequins and AAA Cards #69: One Stash Favourite--my favorite is to add texture to my cards with an impression plate.

My little penguin card is inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #245, and I am also entering at Addicted to Stamps and More #202:  Make Your Mark and Simon Says Monday Challenge: Flora and Fauna.

The challenge of stripes at Addicted to CAS #92 got me thinking about stripes, and I had this idea to make a US flag inspired map.   Not sure exactly what I will do with this card, but it did come out pretty close to what was in my head.  I used red and white striped paper and a US shaped die, as well as a postage stamp die cut, that I cut again on the left side with the US shaped die.  The background is PTI Postmarks and the sentiment is from Destination World Map.

I followed the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches #182 for my final card, flipping the sketch over, and using PTI Songbirds stamps and dies.
