Happy Saturday

Hello and happy Saturday.  When the stars line up and my mojo cooperates, I try to make one card that meets the criteria of all three MFT Challenges.  My first card is inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #497, the colors at MFT Color Challenge #145 and The Birthday Project Challenge Party Hearty.  I am also entering this card at Inkspirational #217: Painting or Coloring, AAA Birthday #15: 3D, and Seize the Birthday #194 (no topping).

While I was looking through my MFT goodies for the first card, I came across this adorable frog that I think I stamped 2 years ago (has it been that long?) when I was visiting Tracey in Canada.  I love how he looks like he is nonchalantly leaning against the wall...what a cool guy, checking out the party scene in his local pond.  I used the same sketch as in the card above.  I created my own patterned paper using a couple of Copic markers, so I could exactly match the colors I used for the frog.  I am also entering this card Inkspirational #217: Painting or Coloring.

Next up is a one layer card inspired by the challenge at Stay Crafty with Hero #11 and the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #380.  I am also entering this card at The Male Room #140: Sport (surfing and paragliding) and Seize the Birthday #194 (no topping).

I am entering this next card at Poppystamps #70: Glim & Glam and also AAA Cards #169: Made in Minutes.  I die cut this Thank You background die once out of white cardstock and then cut just the one 'thanks' word out of Pink Glimmer paper, then inlaid that word back into the negative space.  It's hard to see the shimmer on the pink paper, but it is there!  This card was so quick to make.

While I was looking through my Poppystamps stash, I came across this Urban Skyline Collage die, and thought it would also be good for the Poppystamps #70: Glim & Glam challenge.  I used 1/2 inch wide stripes of glitter paper behind the negative space of this die.  I am also entering this card at Perfectly CAS #10: Sparkle.

I used this gorgeous framed deer die cut for my next card, which I am entering at the Memory Box Challenge #63: Framed and AAA Cards #169: Made in Minutes optional twist Christmas.

I was inspired by the colors at this week's Color Throwdown #601 for my next card.

Last but not least is a clean and simple card inspired by the color challenge at Less is More #423 and Cupcakes Inspiration #497: Flowers with Pearls.

That's it for me today.

My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  Are you watching the Super Bowl?  I am going to watch the commercials, and read my book in between commercials.

I had a Super Crafty weekend.  Here goes...

Vicki's Inspiration Card

I was inspired by the trio of 3 colored critters in Vicki's adorable inspiration card at Muse #251.  I broke out my MFT Polar Bears for this birthday card.  I gave the bear in the front a stylish teal scarf and trendy teal skates, and will enter this card at Addicted to CAS #129:  Teal and Addicted to Stamps and More #277: Make Your Mark.

My next card is inspired by the Candles topping option at Seize the Birthday, the colors at Color Throwdown #478, and the Color Me Pretty challenge at CAS on Friday #125.

I loved this week's sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #257, and hope to try another one this week.  Here's what I made yesterday.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

PTI Make it Monday #311 is all about using different types of paper.  I used some cork paper as well as a page from a book I bought in Italy several years ago for paper crafting purposes.  I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #322.

Switching gears a little, there are so many challenges this week about love and Valentines day.  I pulled out some of my heart dies.  First up is a card using MFT Heart Balloon dies and SSS Handwritten Borders as the string.  I was originally inspired by the sketch at this week's Fusion challenge.  My card went a bit off the rails for the sketch, but I will try again later in the week to see if I can get closer.   I am also entering this card at Just Us Girls #426: Love and AAA Cards #108: All You Need is Love.

Last up....one more Valentine...  I inset the heart on the left and stacked 3 die cuts for the heart on the right for more texture on the card.  I am entering this card at Paper Players #379: Valentine and Just Add Ink #394:  Romance.

Make it Monday and ColourQ

I have a card for this week's Make it Monday #158:  Stamping with Water Color Mediums.  I just got a couple of new Distress Ink colors (Mowed Lawn and Picked Raspberry), so I inked up Reasons to Smile and then spritzed with water before stamping.  I like this technique, and want to try it again if I have time.

I fnished the flowers off with Pure Poppy and Black without any water, impressed with the Aida IP and then coated the flower centers with Wink of Stella.  Gosh, how I love that Wink of Stella.  I just ordered a second one, just in case mine runs out.  I would not want to get caught without my Wink.

I was inspired by the color blocking on this card of Christina's, and decided to use this week's ColourQ cQc #235 colors with Wet Paint stamps and my new Zing Copper Embossing powder.

And one more card that I made the other day but did not get to post--my sister is turning 50 next week.  (yes, she is my YOUNGER sister)...I had this idea to use a Technique Tuesday stamp that has a collage of numbers all together, and to highlight the '50'.  I stamped once in Baja Breeze on a white piece cut with the Lil Inker Stitched Rectangle.  Then, I stamped again in Calypso Coral on a scrap, cut out the 0 and the 5, coated them in a few layers of UTEE, and stuck them on top of the 0 and the 5.

When my daughter saw the card, she asked why it said 05?  What do you think?  I hope my sister gets it. I am thinking I may try another version where I just use a die cut 5 and 0.

That's it for me today.
