Mid Week Progress Report

.

Happy Wednesday.  I am here to post a few cards I made over the past several days.  First up is a card using the techniqe from this week's Make it Monday #209:  White on White Die Cuts with a Pop of Color.  One of the take aways from this week's lesson is about choosing what die cuts will work with this technique.  The image should be recognizable even without the stamping on top.  I chose to work with one of the popsicles in Summer Sweetness.  I think those popsicles are pretty easy to see, although the pink one is definitely the most scrumptious-looking.   You can almost see the WOS in the photo.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Clean and Simple Challenge.

Better late than never...I am sending birthday wishes to a very sweet friend, Monika, who is hosting a birthday linky party.  The challenge is to CASE one of her cards, and she was even kind enough to point out her favorites.  I CASED the card in the lower right corner of her linky party graphic.  It is a little hard to tell, but I cut a square out of computer paper and used it as a mask for my big dahlia stamp from SU Regarding Dahlias set.  I just love that image, and I hope Monika will love it too.

I am also linking this up at Simon Says Monday Due Date challenge.  Even though my card is past due, the birthday wishes are sincere.

The challenge at Time Out #29 is "You can't make a rainbow without a little rain"  Well, I beg to differ.  We are in a terrible drought in California and so have no rain.  BUT, I was able to make a rainbow anyway, thanks to PTI Rainbow Stripes dies.  Yay for dies saving the day.  (If only we could water our plants with dies....)  I was inspired by this card by Lisa on I'm in Haven.

Last up is a card inspired by the sketch at this week's Retro Sketches #160.  I cut into a sheet of Happy Home paper by Bella Blvd. to make a new home card.  (Don't worry, I still have a pristine sheet of this paper for hoarding purposes).  I am also linking this card up at Addicted to Stamps and More #141 where the challenge is Anything Goes.

That's it for me today.  Enjoy the rest of your week.

PTI January 2014 Blog Hop

I will be the first to admit that I went a little crazy with this month's PTI blog hop.  I love pink, and once I got started I just couldn't stop.  Everything looks better in pink....

First up is my favorite of all my cards.  I did some color blocking, similar to this card here, but all in pink.  I started with Raspberry Fizz in the middle, then Hibiscus Burst on either side, and then SU Pretty in Pink on either end.  The sentiment is from Happy Hearts. ETA:  CAS-ual Fridays color blocking challenge is still on, so I will enter this card over there.

This card uses the same pink papers, cut with the Rainbow Stripes dies and a sentiment from Stylish Sentiments Birthday.  I cased this from one of the DT release projects, but can't find the link at the moment.

My dear friend Kim was nice enough to send me some die cuts of the Love die (that I did not buy), and I just added a sentiment from Wonderful Words Love and a few die cut hearts from Love Lives Here.

I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch for my next card.  The stamps are from Hearts Squared and I added a tiny little die cut grey heart from Love Lives Here.

One of the sentiments in Happy Hearts just screamed 'BABY' to me, so I made two baby girl cards.  I think I will use this sentiment either on the inside or outside of every baby card I make.  I just love it.  The first card uses hearts from Happy Hearts, stamped in Memento Angel Pink.  The second card uses Happy Hexagons stamps and dies and the Stars Impression Plate.

It can't be a pink-fest without a flower, right?  I used Friends 'Till the End and some grey washi tape on this next card.  I borrowed this layout from Deanna.

Finally, I have two cards using some pink washi tape.  I am trying to use some of my tapes, rather than just keep buying them.  The design is a modification from this post.  I added an additional strip of tape on the card base.  The sentiments on these cards are from Mini Blooms and Bigger Blooms.

That's it for me for now.  I'll be back later with a pink themed card set that I haven't yet had a chance to write up.

Thanks for Visiting---& Think Pink

PTI August 2013 Blog Hop

Good morning.  Are you as exhausted as I am?  As I type this up on Saturday night, I am thinking about the fabulous day I had with Kim, Cathy, and Marybeth who all came over to play with me during Stamp A Faire.  I will make a separate post about that later, along with pictures and details of our day.

For now, just a quick post of some cards I made earlier in the week for the Papertrey Blog Hop.

I flipped the sketch and changed it just a bit for this card using Sketched Shapes.

Those cake layers made me think of the Rainbow Stripes dies.

That's it for me for now.  Enjoy the hop, and come back later when I have my Stamp a Faire stuff posted.

Thanks for Visiting

PTI July 2013 Blog Hop

It's PTI Blog Hop time.  I love these blog hops.  I always have so much fun making whatever it is we are assigned to make, and then hopping around to see what everyone else has done.  This month, we had so many yummy color schemes to choose from.  I started early, since my parents are visiting, and I knew I would not get much crafting time while they were here.

My goal was to make something using every color scheme, and to limit my flower cards to two.  As of this writing, I still have one color scheme left to go, but my parents will be leaving, and so I may just be able to pop in towards the end of the day with my 6th card.

So, I'll just jump right in....

My first card uses my new Rainbow Circles dies, and was cased from this card by Nicole.  I got my order lightning quick this month, so was able to use some new goodies for the blog hop.  These dies are a little tricky to work with, so I was glad I had something to copy for the first time I used them.

Edited to add that I just realized that this card fits with the theme of CAS-ual Fridays this week, so I am entering it into their CFC110 Count Me In Challenge.

Lots from Ruby Rose on this card.

Mega Gracious Vases die and flowers from The Sweet Life on this card.  I was inspired to use a negative die cut for the vase from this stunning card by Amy.

The new Birthday Greetings set with the Rainbow Stripe dies.

Another PTI design team inspired card, this one using Live Love Life by Jess Witty.

That's it for me for now.  Enjoy the rest of the hop.  I will be checking everthing out as soon as my parents leave, and possibly making a card with the 6th color scheme.

Edited to add:  I will be linking up the birthday cards on this post to Seize the Birthday and The Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
