My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I have a few cards to share, starting with this festive card.  I am entering this card at Festive Friday #74: Christmas (Evergreen Trees, Peace, Red, Green).  It was so quick to make because I started with a printed card front from PTI Petite Places Patterned paper and added a few mini Gnomes that were already stamped and die cut.  I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #180: Made in Minutes + Christmas and Just Add Ink #535: Magical Creatures.

Next up is another very quick card, because I had already made the embossed card front a few months ago, when I first bought the MFT City Block background stamp.  I added a sentiment and this cute pup, and my card was done.  I am entering this card at MFT Color Challenge #155 and AAA Cards #180: Made in Minutes (without the Christmas option).

Next up is an encouragement card inspired by the colors at Color Throwdown #623.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Friday #105: Best Wishes and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Favorite Technique (stencils and fussy cutting).

I was inspired by the challenge at Color Hue #7: Blue and Magenta and Stay Crafty with Hero #17: Thank You.  I am also entering at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Favorite Technique (ink blending).

Last up for today is this sweet scene out the window, which so aptly represents our times.  I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #465 and am also entering at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Favorite Technique (stencil).

That's it for me today.  Its warm and sunny, and we are headed to the beach with the dog.

Thanks for Visiting

Three Hero Arts Slimline Cards

Hello and happy Sunday.  This weekend, I focused on making some slimline cards.  Sometimes it is fun to mix it up a little.  Also, I wanted to participate in the Stay Crafty with Hero Arts #16 challenge, which is all about slimline holiday cards.  I am also entering all of these cards at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge to Layer It Up.

I started out by stamping, coloring and fussy cutting most of the images in Hero Arts Cozy Town.  Then I had lots of bits I could move around and experiment with.  My first card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #458.  I added just a bit of sponged sky over the houses and trees, and made some snow with a stencil and embossing paste.

I used more of those houses and trees for my next card.  I cut snowbanks and stacked my little neighborhoods.

Last up is a card using Distress Fired Brick and a few Distress ink blue colors.  These colors were inspired by the challenge at Color Hues #4.  I blended Fired Brick ink on a brick stencil, then created my windows.  I stamped the Hero Arts Bare Branched Tree onto a piece of card stock, then cut three windows out of the middle section.  I had the idea that you could look out the stacked windows and see how the tree was growing.  Not sure that you can actually get that it is different views of the same tree, but.... I'm OK with this card, but I also think maybe it's a little too busy for me.

I am also entering this card at A Blog Named Hero to make a card with a See Through Element (windows) and WWC294: Anything Goes Masculine.

Thanks for Visiting

2 Birthdays and a Thank You

Hello and happy Thursday.  Today, I am playing with the cat from MFT Sunny Vibes.  I think that cat may be my favorite stamp from that set.  (Until I decide to play with the mouse some more).  My design today was inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #508, and I am playing along at the MFT Birthday Project.  I am also playing along with The Paper Players #509: Pets, AAA Birthday #17: Animals  Critters, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Animal Antics.

Now here's a card to make you hungry.  I was inspired by the sketch at Inky Paws #132, and the colors at Just Add Ink #524.  I am linking up at Retro Rubber #144: Anything Goes (stamps are Newtons Nook Summer Scoops 3 years old), and Water Cooler Wednesday #290: All About Occasions.

Last up is a thank you card--need to replenish my stash.  I used my new Hero Arts Bare Branched Tree and a few colors of Distress Oxide ink for this clean and simple (and practically one layer) thank you card.

Thanks for Visiting
