I'm playing along with this week's PTI Make it Monday #83: Card Isle Inspiration, and using the colors from this week's Color Throwdown #210.
Here is the card I found at Target:
I loved the idea of a trio of owls, all stacked up. I noticed that the middle owl was a bit of a jokester, and he was doing something different. I used that adorable Paper Smooches owl again. I changed the card from a Halloween card to a birthday card, and had the middle owl hold a birthday greeting balloon. I used this week's Color Throwdown color scheme.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments, Paper Smooches Spookalicious, Hero Arts Birthday Messages
Paper: PTI: Kraft, Simply Chartreuse, Vintage Cream
Ink: PTI Hawaiian Shores, Memento Rich Cocoa, VersaMark
Other: Clear embossing Powder
Thanks for Visiting
This is so super cute! Love your take on the card especially the vertical "Happys" and the cute balloon. :)
ReplyDeleteEEK!! Adorable :) I just love them stacked up like that and the middle one holding the balloon!
ReplyDeleteThese guys are too cute!!!
ReplyDeleteJokester...love that! Your card is even better than the inspiration card, love that you added a birthday balloon to it. You always find the perfect stamps to use on these challenges!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card. I love yours better than the one that inspired you. Much more colorful. I like the vertical "Happy".
ReplyDeleteLove your crazy owl card Joyce! You tackled the inspiration card perfectly and honestly I would buy yours over the store bought hands down!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! I agree, your card is lots better than the Target version! Great colors and sentiment and love how your little guy is holding a birthday balloon!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I love that the one owl is a bit of a jokester. You beat Target hands down, or feet up! smile
ReplyDeleteAnother fabby fun card!!
ReplyDeleteAnd look how much you saved over the store bought card...
isn't it amazing?!!
And so much cuter and more creative than anything you can buy!
But sshhhh...
don't tell...
I use Hallmark for sympathy cards.
I'm SO horrible with them...
they're so hard to do...
I just find it easier to let Hallmark do it for me.
Your owls are adorable!! I love that one balloon he is holding, too!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, Joyce! That owl just makes me smile!
ReplyDeletegreat card - much cuter than the inspiration & love the color palette! Hope you are managing to stay cool - we have a freezer full of grapes to get a through the weekend and I never thought I'd be thankful for a 7:30 am soccer game!
ReplyDeletelove your colours and balancing owls. Your card beats the store card easily.
ReplyDeleteso perfect!
ReplyDeleteYour trio of owls are just too cute! I am guessing that since I am not an owl person, I would have never noticed that the middle guy was a jokester. Your card is so fun and festive and the colors just so bright. Just too darn cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce - you picked a great card to copy, so many possibilities. I love how your owls are teetering and not stacked straight up (like I would probably do). So much more movement your way. What a fun card!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! Whenever I see owls I think of you:) I'm so glad that you got the Paper Smooches one! Match made in heaven!
ReplyDeleteJust adorable! Love that stack of owls! Thanks for joining us for this week's Color Throwdown.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Such a fun cute card!
