My Crafty Weekend

Hello and happy Sunday.  I've been crafty again, so let's get right to it.

First up is this very fun birthday card, inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #525.  I used hippos and birds from MFT Happy Hippos and another bird from Birthday Bear & Friends.  I am also entering this card at CAS on Friday #197: Animals, Use Your Stuff #414: Out with the Old (I've had these animal birthday sets from MFT for a long time, and still love them), and Seize the Birthday #206 (no twist).  Because I think this card would be perfect for a little boy, I am entering it at the Male Room #146: Animals and WWC305: Anything Goes Masculine Twist.

I don't know how it happened, but I have run out of new home cards.  I made a matching pair, inspired by a design I used years ago.  This first card will be headed to my niece tomorrow.

This card is almost exactly the same, except for the blended background and placement of clouds.

I will be entering both of these cards at Use Your Stuff #414: Out with the Old (I used an old die called Home Scape from Sugar Pea) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Make Your Own Background.

My next card is another for my stash of new home cards.  I was inspired by the challenge at Less is More #435: In a Row to pull out a new-to-me Scene It More from Clearly Besotted.

I was so excited to see the new challenge at Festive Friday #0076: Chinese New Year.  I had the perfect stamp set from Mama Elephant Ni Hao.  My younger daughter was supposed to be in Shanghai this semester, but it was canceled by covid.  I will still give her this card, and we will celebrate Chines New Year here in California.  The elements of the challenge I used on my card are red, gold and dragon.

I made 2 versions of the card, as I could not decide which parts should be red or white.

I am also entering these cards at WWC305: Anything Goes Masculine Twist.

I had so much fun playing with my newest stamps from Newton's Nook, Paw-some Birthday.  I used the colors from Inky Paws Challenge #140 and the sketch from The Paper Players #525.

I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #206 (no twist), and because I think this card would be perfect for a little boy, I am entering it at the Male Room #146: Animals and WWC305: Anything Goes Masculine Twist.

Switching gears for a moment, I have a few holiday cards to post.  I am entering both of these holiday cards at the new MFT Slimline Challenge, because I used MFT Delightful Deer dies.    I am also entering these cards at Addicted to Stamps and More #397: Christmas and Retro Rubber #150: Winter Wonderland (my sentiment stamp is at least 1 year old, and the deer and birds are several years old).

And, my last card today is this multi-colored village on a snowy night.  I am entering this card at Just Us Girls #568 (inspired by the snowy night in the village), Addicted to Stamps and More #397: Christmas, Addicted to CAS #189: Snow, and Kat Scrappiness January Winter Challenge.

The Great Wall of China

Happy Friday...I am quickly popping in to post a card I made to send to my daughter.  I love this image of The Great Wall...both she and I have been there, but not together...I went after grad school and she went in 8th grade (lucky girl).

I am entering this card at Freshly Made Sketches #456 and Simon Says Monday Challenge: dry embossing.

Just Two Cards

Hello and happy Sunday.  I have spent most of my crafty time this weekend trying to organize and get caught up on things...but I do have 2 cards to share.

My first card uses this adorable giraffe from MFT Giraffes on Ice, and I have created a fun birthday card for a child or anyone young at heart.  I was inspired by the challenge at the September MFT Birthday Project, AAA Birthday #17, Inkspirational #222: Day, and Seize the Birthday #199 (no toppings).

Next up is a card I will send to my daughter at college who is studying Chinese.  I used a sentiment from Waffle Flower Ni Hao, and I think she will enjoy reading it in Chinese (good thing there is a translation).  I was inspired by the challenge at Just Add Ink #523: Just Add "A" (Asia--my kitty is eating sushi and ramen in Chinatown), The Paper Players #509: Pets and The Library Challenge #68: The Cat in the Hat (one of my all time favorite books).

Thanks for Visiting
