CASology Week #213: Stitch

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is Stitch.

I pulled out a real oldie but goodie for this card--remember PTI Button Boutique?  I decided to make a baby card featuring buttons--something you would stitch on--and faux stitching two ways.

I used a die to put faux stitches around the top panel of my card, and a stamp to add some faux stitches to my focal point.

Now, it's your turn.  How does STITCH inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Papertrey 6th Anniversary

I'm popping in with my last entries for Papertrey's 6th Anniversary Celebrations.  First up are two felt flower pony tail holders.  I kind of had this idea in my head, and then when I saw Tracey's creation, I knew I was on the right track.

Sarah picked her favorite PTI colors--Hawaiian Shores and Limeade Ice for hers.

Rachel is on her school trip, so I picked Aqua Mist and Royal Velvet for her.

And, I finally got to CASE this card of Dawn's--I've been meaning to get to it all week.  I used some Ice Skate die cuts Tracey was nice enough to send me.  This will be my final entry in the Design Team Favorites challenge.

Are you ready for the big February release reveal tomorrow?  I know I am.

Valentines

I threw the heart border die into my cart on impulse during my last release order.  What a great idea that turned out to be.  I have been having such fun with it.

The first two cards were inspired by this card Maile Belles showed during the count down.

Rainbow Hearts

Color Blocked Hearts

Be Mine
Hugs & Kisses

I whipped up this last card super quick, after seeing this card from my friend Kim at Cupcakes, Cards and Kim.  I loved how she used patterned paper and Button Boutique, and just had to try it myself with one of my new Valentine paper pads.  The paper is double sided, so I cut one piece, and used both sides for the card.  That is the only way I know that these two patterns match.

Get Well Soon

I am playing along with this week's CR84FN color challenge of red, brown and kraft.  I just love this color combination.  This card is headed to one of my mother-in-laws, who just confessed to having a bit of surgery last week.

I made the flower using the Bloom Builders die on a piece of rustic white paper stamped with Background Basics: Newsprint in SU Real Red ink.  You can't really tell what is on those petals, but I think it just looks a little more interesting.  I embossed the sentiment on the bottom of the card to give it a little more pop.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card:

Come back again later.  I'll have another card with a different take on the same color challenge.

Supplies Used (PTI unless otherwise noted):
Stamps:  Button Boutique, Simple Sentiments, Background Basics:  Newsprint, Think Big Favorites
Paper:  Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate, Kraft, Rustic White
Other:   Dies:  Button Boutique, Bloom Builders, Doily (courtesy of Cathy), XL Rick Rack, Woodgrain IP

Four-Of-A-Kind #2

It is time for our September Four-of-a-Kind post.  This will be the second in what I hope is a long series of monthly posts where Cathy, Kim, Renee and I challenge ourselves to make a card out of a kit sent to us by the hostess of the month.  You can see the first challenge here.

The hostess for the month makes four kits and sends them out to each of us.  We work secretly to create a card using at least 4 items from the kit.   No other rules or restrictions.  We are allowed to use anything else we have on hand.  We get to see each others cards today, on each of our blog posts.  We are scheduling our posts to go live at the same time.  I can't wait to see what everyone has created.

Our hostess this month was Kim of Cupcakes, Cards and Kim.  She sent each of us this fabulous package of goodies:

I was so excited when I saw all this loot.  Purple and green is one of my favorite color combinations.  And, while I have the Button Boutique and Signature Dress Form sets, I haven't played with them nearly enough (OK, not at all...)

Here is the card I came up with for our challenge:

I am really happy with the way this card turned out, and it didn't take much time at all.  I think having a collection of elements all prepared and practically served to me on a silver platter is quite a nice way to make a card.

The other three members of Four-of-a-Kind are:
Cathy Weber:  Empty Nest Crafter
Kim Heggins:  Cupcakes, Cards and Kim
Renee Lynch:  It's a Patchwork Life

Please stop by their blogs, if you haven't been there already, and see what they have created for our second  Four-of-a-Kind post.
