CASology Week #358...Branch

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is BRANCH.  I die cut my branch from green card stock as well as vellum and adhered them both to a card front that I had added some subtle texture to.  Stamped a sentiment, and my super simple card was done.

Now it's your turn.  How does BRANCH inspire you?

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope you play along this week.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the our Guest Designer Deepti S. and the CASology design team.  Our sponsor this week is Stamplorations

Happy Birthday

I'm just popping in with a quick card to share that I made for the PTI Make it Monday #325 and Simon Says Wednesday Challenges: Bright and Cheerful.

I used dies from Beautiful Blooms, Notched Flowers and Branching Out.  I cut the Branching Out die from a piece I had sponged and water spattered for another card, but didn't use.

Time Out #94...Reminder...Belated Birthday Wishes

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  We have this photo to inspire your card.

I was wishing I had a seahorse in my stash, but since I didn't have one, I focused in on the brown branch in the very back of the photo and just went with that.

My card is so very simple, with a single die cut branch adhered to a textured card front panel.  I thought it would work well as a masculine birthday card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Janet, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  Stamplorations is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

A Little Birdie Told Me and Happy Birthday

I have two cards to share today.  First up is a card inspired by Jenni's sweet card over at Muse #108.

Jenni's Inspiration Card

I immediately thought of the adorable Happy Birds from WPlus9, and used a color scheme from Just Add Ink #352.

I am also entering this card at Additcted to Stamps and More #234: Clean and Simple and CASual Fridays CFC170: No Dies Allowed.

I am building up my stash of birthday cards with this next card--using a die from Serendipity I just received.  I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #214, and the challenge at Less is More #321 to "Use a Frame"

I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday: Use Black and White and one more color, AAA Cards Game #86: Die Cuts, Simon Says Monday Challenge: Layer it Up, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Use more than 1 die or punch.

ColourQ #322...Cheers

Hello--happy Tuesday and time for the last ColourQ challenge of the year.  We have this pretty and elegant color scheme to work with.

I could not resist using as much gold as possible on this card.  I used PTI Brushed Off stamped in Delicata gold all along the side of my card front.  I die cut some leaves out of SU Baja Breeze, brushed the tips with a Versamark pen and embossed them with Ranger gold embossing powder.

Please head on over to the ColourQ challenge blog to see more inspiration from the design team. I hope you will join in the fun and play along this week.

With Sympathy

For some reason, I really felt like the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #146 would work well for a sympathy card, so that is the direction I went this week.

I used Harvest Berries stamps and dies in Scarlet Jewel ink with a sentiment from Reverse Confetti.

I made one more sympathy card, this time using the Branching Out die, a sentiment from Avery Elle and Ocean Tides paper.

I do like to keep a stock of sympathy cards on hand, so these will be going into my stash, and I hope they will stay there for a long time.

I am also entering both of these cards at Simon Says Monday Throwback Challenge to June 8th--For the Love of Plants, and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.
