Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Time Out. You are in for a treat this week, as it is a CASE week and our inspiration card is provided by the kind and talented Tracey McNeely of In My Creative Opinion. Take a look at Tracey's gorgeous card.
I was inspired by the white embossing, the vellum, the blended ink in the background, and the bold sentiment. I actually have this stamp set, and it took a supreme act of self control not to just make exactly this card--perhaps only changing the colors--but I know I am supposed to provide a little more inspiration than that.
I started with Clearly Besotted Flight of Fancy and die cut three of the smaller butterflies out of vellum and white embossed them. Then, I picked 3 colors of Distress Inks that looked good to me, and blended them into the background of the card front in the general vicinity of where I was planning on adhering the butterflies. I noticed that Tracey's flower was not adhered all the way to the edge of the die cut, so I did something similar, attaching the butterflies only at their center, leaving the wings to go a little free.
I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us over the next two weeks. Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team and our guest designer, Stempelfrida.
Thanks for Visiting
Joyce, I love both these cards, all the best components. Vellum white embossing butterflies and flowers and distress inks. Like a match made in heaven, have got to give this a go.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you took the colours apart! And the beautiful delicate butterflies; looks great! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteI also found it so hard not to just copy Tracey's card, however I think you were far more creative than me and I love the more vibrant colours you have used-great inspiration for us all x
