Time Out #115...Reminder...Sweet Birthday

There is still time to play along with our current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is

My favorite food of all time is ice cream.  Mocha almond fudge to be specific, but I do like brighter colored ice cream on my cards.  IRL, I wouldn't eat anything without chocolate!

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Susie Moore, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  Birch Press Design is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run another week.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Happy Birthday and Sympathy

I have 3 cards to post today, and the first one uses a water colored background behind the Poppystamps Urban Skyline Collage die.  I am entering this card at Poppystamps #47: Make a Splash and Seize the Birthday: Water!

My next card is for the challenge at PTI Make it Monday #332: Petite Pattern Play.  I used stamps from Kit N Caboodle.

Last up is a card for this week's Muse #278 Challenge, where we have this beautiful card from Anita for our inspiration.

Inspiration Card

I was inspired by the white embossing and the paled colored card front.  I used a soft stone card front and white embossed Harvest Berry stamps.

My Crafty Week....with some very special visitors

Happy Sunday.  Get ready for lots of photos.  I was lucky enough to host some crafty friends this week.  On Tuesday, Kim, Jacquie and I got inky together.  We had such fun, and were very productive.

Kim and I took a break from crafting to take Sherlock for a walk on the beach.

OK, on to the cards.  Here is my favorite of the bunch.  I stamped the city skyline image from Concord & 9th and then sponged a rainbow over the buildings.  This card took 8 minutes and 8 seconds, and the reason I timed myself was for the Inkspiration Challenge #166: Make a card in 10 minutes or less.  I am also entering this card at Just Add Ink #420, where the inspiration photo was a rainbow flower.

Kim and I started our first crafting session by watching this week's video PTI Make it Monday #331: Creating Mixed Background Texture.   I finally broke out PTI Stitching Garden for this card.  I am also entering this card at CAS On Friday #138: Tag It.

I was inspired to transform this card I made a couple of weeks ago, adding some more ice cream cones and using my newest PTI ice cream set, Sweet Treats.  I am entering this card at PTI Transformation Tuesday Challenge.

Transformed Card

I inked up another new PTI set for the pets challenge at Less is More #377.  I followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #348.  I don't have a cat anymore, but this kitty sleeping in the window reminds me of the cat I had before I got married.

I used a different image from that same stamp set for my next card, which I am entering at AAA Cards #121: Friendship.

Up next is a card I started at Tracey's house, using some cute jungle animal stamps.  I am entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Challenge Monday: Wild Things and Addicted to CAS #142: Masculine.

Another card started at Tracey's, this one for Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Make your Own Background and Seize the Birthday: Water.  I created the background by sponging Distress Oxide inks and then sprinkling water.

The Male Room #91 is celebrating their 5th birthday, and I have this card made with Concord & 9th Birthday Stacks stamps.

Last but not least is this card, made with CAS-ual Fridays Amber Waves and Lovely Greetings.  I am entering this card at Calling All Sistahs #15 where I used their suggested color scheme of red, white, blue and gray, and also at CAS-ual Fridays #105: Stamp a Pattern.

CASology Week #309...Sunbeam

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is SUNBEAM.  What a perfect cue word for a warm, sunny, summer day.  I made a card I can send to my daughter when the weather is cold and grey where she is going to college.

I used the PTI Sunbeam Stencil to blend some bright sunbeams on my card front, and then surrounded my sentiment with a couple of clouds.

Now it's your turn.  How does SUNBEAM inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Joyce (that's me)

Brushed Birds Thank You

Popping in quickly to share a card I made for this week's PTI Transformation Tuesday challenge.  I decided to lighten up the overall color scheme of this card I recently made with Brushed Birds.

Original Card

I used darker yellows for the birds, but a white card base in my transformed card.  I also opted for stamped leaves rather than die cut leaves.

Transformed Card

I must admit to liking them both.  Ah, those Brushed Birds...
