Time Out #210...Happiness is a Warm Puppy

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by this quote:

"Happiness is a Warm Puppy"

--Charles Schultz

I chose an image with puppies and a quote about happiness for my card this week.  I used Woof Pack stamps by our sponsor Newton's Nook for my card.  I just love this stamp, which has so many adorable pups all squeezed together.  I chose to highlight just one pup in particular, and colored the rest of the pack with various tones of grey.

Where will this quote take you?  You do not have to stick with dogs....pick anything that makes you happy.  We'd love to see it on a card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our fabulous Guest Designer, Asa, and the Time Out Design Team.  Newton's Nook is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

My Crafty Week

I've had some crafty time these last few days...First up is a card using my newest favorite dies--The Greetery Sitting Pretty.  I created this cozy front porch scene and added a stenciled tree in the background.  I am entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #410: Die Cuts and/or Stencils and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Out with the old (stencil) and In with the New (die cuts).

Next up is a whole bunch of dogs, inspired by the sketch at Inky Paws #153, and especially inspired by this card from DT member Sue.  I used the colors from Color Hue #22: Lime Green and Aqua.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #410: Die Cuts and/or Stencils and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Out with the old (stamps) and In with the New (stencil).

I used elements from a My Monthly Hero kit to create this elegant wedding card.  I stamped the frame twice in Delicata gold ink, inspired by the challenge at A Blog Named Hero: Repeat Yourself.

For my next wedding card, I pulled out the beautiful PTI Text and Texture Roses, and stamped in Fine Linen and Kraft on Vintage Cream card stock.  I don't think I have ever used this set before, but I will surely use it again before too long.  I just love how it looks stamped tone on tone.  I am entering this card at the What Do I Do With This challenge to create a tactile card by using multiple dies or heat embossing.  My sentiment is heat embossed, fussy cut, and popped up with foam tape.

Crafty Round Up...Lots of Love

All week, I've been stealing moments here and there, and have managed to make a large number of cards this week...most, but not all, of them related to the themes of love, valentines and hearts...which seem to be the predominant challenges right now.

To start off, this card was inspired by the sketch at Inky Paws #141.  I die cut a heart shaped window and stamped Newton dressed as the Statue of Liberty right in the middle of the window.  I added a couple of other images from the same stamp set, and used a sentiment that is so very true!  I can't wait for Covid to be done, so I can go to New York for fun.

I am also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love and/or Heart, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Love is in the Air, Inkspirational #232: Hearts, and Use Your Stuff #415: Hearts.

Next up is a card that requires no sentiment--but it is obvious what this doggie is saying.  I used the Pawsome Heart stencil from Funky Fossil, added a dog from MFT Woof Pack and some speech bubble hearts from MFT Love Speech Bubbles.  I think this might be Sherlock's Valentine to his 'sisters'.

I am entering this card at CAS on Friday #198: Love, Happy Little Stampers February Stencil Challenge: Anything Goes, Happy Little Stampers February CAS Challenge: Love is in the Air, Just Us Girls #570: Valentine, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love and/or Heart, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Love is in the Air, Inkspirational #232: Hearts, Use Your Stuff #415: Hearts, and Shopping Our Stash #438: Love is in the Air.

And...another Valentine's Day card.  My initial inspiration for this card was the color scheme at Color Hues #11: Red & Pink.  I thought it would be a struggle to put red with pink, but as I played along, a couple of ideas came to fruition.  Here is the first...

I used the MFT Staggered Hearts Border die, and cut it 5 times to cover an entire card front.  Then I took an assortment of additional hearts in red and pink, and scattered them about.  If you look closely, you can see that I put 3 red gem stones on 3 of the red hearts.

I am also entering this card at Happy Little Stampers February CAS Challenge: Love is in the Air, Just Us Girls #570: Valentine, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love and/or Heart, and Inkspirational #232: Hearts.

Here is another take on the Color Hues #11: Red & Pink color scheme.  I used a liberal interpretation of the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #471 and because the three die cuts that make up this heart form an intricate pattern, I am also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #190: Pattern.

I am also entering this card at  Just Us Girls #570: Valentine and Inkspirational #232: Hearts.

I am such a sucker for any and all mouse stamps.  I think it's because we had rats before we got our dog, so I pretend the mice are just very cute rats.  I recently bought Secret Admirer from Waffle Flower, and just started playing around with these adorable mice.  I ended up with 4 more valentines cards.

When I saw the photo at The Card Concept #148: Sweetheart Sweets, I was inspired to create this next card.  What do you think a cute mouse would give as a Valentines gift?  Chocolates in a heart shaped box, of course.  I was inspired by the chocolate and the pink in the inspiration photo.  My card style is Clean and Simple.  I am also entering this at Less is More #436: Chocolate.  Also, HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY to Less is More!!  Let's celebrate with Chocolate.

Here are a few more cards I made with those sweet mice from Waffle Flower.  I am also entering these cards at Happy Little Stampers February CAS Challenge: Love is in the Air, Just Us Girls #570: Valentine, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Love and/or Heart, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Love is in the Air, Inkspirational #232: Hearts, Use Your Stuff #415: Hearts, Shopping Our Stash #438: Love is in the Air and WWC #307: Anything Goes with a Feminine Twist.

I created a background on this card using the Falling Hearts Stencil, so I am also entering it at Happy Little Stampers February Stencil Challenge: Anything Goes.

Now, for a complete switch of gears, my last card is a wintery birthday card, inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch #527, Festive Friday #77: International Polar Bear Day (bears, blue, ice, sentiment) and Addicted to Stamps and More #398: Birthdays.

Well, that was kind of exhausting.  Now, to put some of those valentines in the mail....

Crafting During the Week

Hello and happy Thursday.  I've been crafting this week and have several cards to share.  First up is homework for my last day of MFT Summer School: White Space.  I used these adorable dogs from MFT Pups & Kisses.  I am also entering this card at The Card Concept #138c, Shopping Our Stash #426: KISS, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Use Your Favorite Tool (Copics).

My next card was inspired by the sketch at MFT Sketch Challenge #501 and the colors at Color Throwdown #605.  I used another brand new to me MFT stamp set called Big Birthday Sentiments.  I used one of the sentiments and also a little candle stamp from the same set.  That candle stamp is the sort of extra little image I would normally never notice, but challenged myself to feature it on this card.

I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday #196: No Topping and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Happy Birthday, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Use Your Favorite Tool (Tim Holtz Stamping platform--there is no way I could have stamped all 64 candles without it).

Next up is a card that features some of the cute dogs from Newton's Nook Woof Pack, inspired by the sketch at Inky Paws #129.  I focused in on a couple of the dogs in the pack, colored them and greyed out all the other dogs near by.  I am thinking if I have time, I might want to try this again with darker colors.  I am also entering this card at The Card Concept #138c and Shopping Our Stash #426: KISS.

I really liked the way this card came out the other day, so when I saw a few of the new challenges this week, I decided to use a different color paint chip and a more masculine-looking die cut sentiment.

I am entering this card at Freshly Made Sketches #447, The Male Room #141: 7th Birthday (Happy Birthday to The Male Room!!), AAA Birthday #16: Tic Tac Toe (masculine/die cut/pattern paper), Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Happy Birthday, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Use Your Favorite Tool (paint chips).

Last up is this card featuring these sweet elephants from Poppystamps.  I am entering this card at Poppy Challenge #71: Heat Wave (I used warm colors for my elephant ears and a spray of water to cool them off),  AAA Cards #171: Along the Edge, Shopping Our Stash #426: KISS and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Use Your Favorite Tool (texture plates).
