CASology #302...Squiggle

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is SQUIGGLE.  I immediately thought of these squiggly arrow dies from PTI Get to the Point.  I cut a bunch of them out of white card stock, then colored a rainbow using Copics.

As I have been doing lately, I put my sentiment on top of my images, as I could not find a good place for it anywhere else.

Now it's your turn.  How does SQUIGGLE inspire you?  I hope you play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

PTI 9th Anniversary

Popping in quickly with cards for two more of the PTI 9th Anniversary challenges.

First up is a card for the Create Along with us Challenge.  I was inspired by this card by Erin Lincoln.

Erin Lincoln's Card

I stayed pretty true to Erin's card, with the exception of the border die she used (not released yet) and my color scheme, which was both darker and brighter than hers.  I impressed my card front with the Peony Cover plate and that gave me a rough guide about where to sponge my flowers and leaves.

I thought the white areas looked a little stark, so I went over them with a very light sponging of Aqua Mist.

My next card is for the Day 5 Sampler Square Challenge.  I've recently been teaching both of my teenaged daughters how to drive, so I find myself looking at road signs more closely than usual.  I had this idea to use a bunch of the different arrow dies from Get to the Point.

I pulled out 9 different colors of PTI card stock and die cut 9 different arrows from Get to the Point. Then I stamped each arrow using Versamark ink and a variety of different PTI background stamps.

It was still looking a little stark, so I boldly (foolishly) started doodling--I added faux stitching around all the boxes and random little white dots from my white gel pen.  I stamped a sentiment from Retro Style Graduation and an arrow from Live Love Life.  I think this will be a fun card to give one of my girls as they head out on their next adventure.

Make it Monday, Colour Me and Seize the Birthday

I made two cards for this week's Make it Monday #157 DIY Coverplates.  This is an interesting technique, but I have to say that I don't think I will ever complain that a $16 cover plate is too expensive.  It's easy but error prone to try to do it yourself--at least in my experience.

I used Get to the Point dies for both of my cards.  For my first card, I put a piece of patterned paper from Basic Gray Kneehighs under my die cut card stock.  I got that idea from this gorgeous card made by Diana.

I added a sentiment to the inside, and the last remaining bit of that patterned paper.

I used Laurie's Card Hanger Die to attach the card to a gift bag.

I used the colors of this week's Colour Me #13 for my next card, and a different die from Get to the Point.  In Betsy's video, she suggests saving all the pieces that are die cut if you are not going to stamp inside the negative spaces.  Since I don't have the Get to the Point stamps, I adhered my die cut panel with foam tape, and then reinserted all the die cut pieces after stamping them with Background Basics Herringbone.

My panel is cut along a diagonal at about the half way point.  That is because there were some unmentionable things that happened at the top, and I didn't want to start over.  I kind of like the partial look, though, and it gave me a good place to stamp my sentiment.

I am also going to link both of these up at Seize the Birthday.  It's been far too long since I played over there.
