My Crafty Weekend

Can you believe this is my second post today.  Click here to see all the cards I made as a Guest Designer at The 12 Kits of Occasions.

My first card combines the sketch at CAS-ual Friday's #209 and the colors at Just Add Ink #428.  I used the new PTI Corner Adorner September stamps.  I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #311:  Anything Goes.

Next up is a card using the Sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #356 and the colors at The Color Throwdown #512.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:  Anything Goes.  I used Stampin Up Totally Trees stamps.

Next up is a card I started to make using the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #291.  After completing the card, I decided I needed to try again.  Because of that, I am entering the second card at PTI Transformation Tuesday Challenge.

Original Card

I moved the balloons higher on to the card, and used just one sentiment/string.  I am happier with the second card.

Next up is a card playing along at The Paper Players #412.  It is a tic tac toe challenge, and I chose the diagonal die cut, pumpkin, green.

Last up is a card for The Male Room #95: The Great Outdoors.  I used PTI Mountain Majesty stamps.

CASology 5 Year Anniversary Blog Hop: Week #259: Balloon

Hello and happy Tuesday.   This week, we are celebrating our 5 year anniversary at CASology with a blog hop.

If you are hopping along, you should have arrived here from Kymona's blog.  If you want to start the hop from the beginning, click here.

This week, our cue word is Balloon.  A very fitting cue word for our week long celebration.  I made a birthday card, masking and layering a festive grouping of balloons.

I hope that you will hop along with CASology this week.  There are so many prizes from our many sponsors.  You will also get to hop along and see some creations from our previous DT members who have moved on to other things over the years.

Your next stop on the hop is Rosemary's blog.

Information about the hop and the prizes can be found here, at the CASology Home Page.

Now it's your turn.  How does BALLOON inspire you?  I hope you will hop and play along this week.  Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Balloons!

I have two birthday cards to post today, both featuring party balloons.

I used the inlaid die technique on these balloons, and I was inspired by the colors at CAS Colours and Sketches #172.

I am entering this card at AAA Cards #64 and Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge as both challenges ask for inlaid die cuts.

Lizzie has a great video over at PTI Make it Monday #248 where the challenge is blending through die cut masks.

I am also entering this card at Less is More #275: Pastel Colors, Simon Says Stamp Monday: Embossing and Seize the Birthday without toppings.

Sunday Update

Time to post what I've been working on this weekend.  It ended up being kind of a low key, lazy weekend, which was a nice way to end spring break.  I know my daughters are not ready to go back to school, but I think I am ready to get back to my usual routines.

First up is a card I have had in my head for over a week now--a tall and skinny birthday card for the toppings option of Seize the Birthday.  I am also linking this card up at Less is More where the theme is up up and away.

I don't know why I don't make more cards in this shape.  It is a nice change, and will fit perfectly in a standard A10 envelope.  I die cut and stamped a bunch of balloons in an assortment of bright and happy colors and used a birthday sentiment from SSS Handwritten Borders as the string.  I had the confetti die cut left over from an older project and I pretty much adhered it where it fell when I sprinkled it.

Next up is a fun little tag I made for Tag You're It #19.  My friend Jeanne is the inspiration this week, and so I had to play along.  I was inspired by Jeanne's use of die cuts and patterned papers--vintage classic Jeanne.  I even used the same Basic Grey paper as she did.  My stamps and dies are from PTI Songbirds.

Next up is one more card using the same stencil and sketch for Happy Little Stampers as I used on this card.  I went bright yellow and pink on white for this card and added some texture with the Linen Impression Plate.

Last up are two cards inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #119.  I love this sketch.  I whipped up these two cards so quickly, and I have more ideas but no more time.

This first card is PTI Year of Flowers Gladiolus.  You can't see in the photo, but I sprayed shimmer over all the card, after water coloring the flowers and leaves with Distress inks.  I am also entering this card at AAA Cards #37 It's Springtime, Curtain Call Bouquet Challenge, and Paper Players 241: Clean and Simple Watercolor.

And finally, a more literal interpretation of the sketch--to replenish my stash of sympathy cards.  I cut the SSS All Season's Tree out of Spring Moss and perched a few Memory Box Resting Birds cut from Saharah Sand paper.

That's it for me.  Here comes Monday.

Guest Designer Colour Me...! Playful CMCC#64

Hello and happy Wednesday.  I'm here for my fourth and last post as a Guest Designer for Colour Me...!  The month of March has really flown by.

This week, I decided to use the colors to make a plaid pattern.   Stamping a plaid pattern is a fun and easy way to combine colors.  I stamped my pattern on a 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 piece of card stock so I would have enough of the pattern to have a full strip on the side of my card and enough to show behind whatever I ended up die cutting out of my front panel.

There are a lot of good videos on how to stamp a plaid pattern.  Here is a link to a Make it Monday video by Ashley Cannon Newell.  I used Waltzingmouse Offbeat Backgrounds to stamp my plaid, but you could use any striped stamp.

I hope you will play along with Colour Me...! this week.
