Hello friends. I am easing back into crafting, and have some fun things to share today.
First up is this sweet little birthday card that I made by coloring in some stamped die cuts sent to me by my BFF, Kim. I fell in love with the adorable critters drawn by Anita Jeram in the books I read to my kids when they were little, and have only lately learned that I can buy stamps of them from Colorado Crafts! Amazing, right?
How about these adorable little mice, gathering to celebrate someone's birthday. They remind me of the pet rats we had before we got Sherlock. I paired them with stamps and a piercing die from Concord & 9th.
I am entering this card at AAA Birthday #25: Happy Birthday, AAA Cards #190: Birthday, CAS on Friday #205: Food, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: 4 Legged Friends, and WCW316: Occasions.
The next 5 cards are part of a gift set I am working on for a friend. I am creating all the cards without sentiments, and I will include an assortment of sentiments that she can add to each card when she is ready to send it. She will also be able to decide where on the card to put the sentiment. I think she will have fun with this.
First up is a card using this week's colors at Color Throwdown #643. I blended Distress Oxide inks on a card front, and then used the Peony Cover Plate Die in die cut in black. I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #405: Die Cuts, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Die, and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.
Next up is a pair of cards using the Purple & Teal color scheme from this week's Color Hues #18 Challenge. The cards are mirror images of each other, and if the trick I tried had worked, I could have done them both out of the same Distress Oxide blended ink panel. Alas, it did not, so I created a second blended ink panel and used one as a base for my white die cut butterflies and cut the other with the Butterfly die. I am also entering this card at Addicted to CAS #197: Bugs (I think butterflies qualify as bugs), Addicted to Stamps and More #405: Die Cuts, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Die, and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.
Last up for today is this pair of cards, created with 2 identical Distress Oxide blended panels. I cut a white and a black piece of cardstock using the Winne & Walter Multifaceted Cutaway cover die, and flipped one of the panels over so the cards would be similar but also different. I think it's kind of cool how the colors look different when they are paired with black and white. I am entering these cards at Inkspirational #239: Triangles, Addicted to Stamps and More #405: Die Cuts, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Die, and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.
Thanks for Visiting
Well, of course your bff would send you images of mice! :) Such an adorable card. Such a great idea to give a card set with the sentiments separate, so they can be tailored to need! All of them are beautiful, but I am especially drawn to your perfect ink blending. Thanks for making such gorgeous cards for Addicted to Stamps and More and Inkspirational!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to give your friend the sentiments separately so she can add them herself, it makes your gift all the more unique and versatile! Your blended butterfly ones make great use of the current Color Hues colours. :)
ReplyDeleteyou really are getting back into crafting and those little critters are adorable-love the way the sentiment is stitched and then sponged. And a wonderful colourful set of cards for your friend. I adore the changing in colours and a super idea for the sentiments-sending hugs x
