Well, it's the start of a long holiday weekend, and I have a few cards to post already. First up is a one layer card inspired by a couple of challenges: Stay Crafty with Hero #11: One Layer, Addicted to CAS #187: One Layer, Seize the Birthday #194: Red, White & Blue, A Blog Named Hero: Combine Old and New (the birthday cakes are new and the sentiment is old), and Retro Rubber #138: Anything Goes (Sentiment stamp probably at least 4 years old).
I stamped the sentiment first in red, masked it off, and then stamped all those birthday cakes in Navy blue in the background.
Next up is another one layer card inspired by the following challenges: Stay Crafty with Hero #11: One Layer, Addicted to CAS #187: One Layer, Seize the Birthday #194: no toppings this time, Inspired By...#131 (I was inspired by all the different colors of the festive party decorations) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Bright and Cheerful.
I stamped and white heat embossed one of the festive birthday frame stamps from the My Monthly Hero birthday kit. After sponging a variety of cheerful colors , I stamped my sentiment in the center.
Last up is a card inspired by the colors at MFT Color Challenge #144, the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #442 (which screamed balloons to me the moment I saw it), Retro Rubber #138: Anything Goes (sentiment stamp probably at least 4 years old), and a new challenge to me, the CAS Mix Up: Stencil Tracing (I used the MFT Balloon Stencil and traced around my sponged balloon images. I outlined them as I would see them if they were layered together.)
Thanks for Visiting
Beautiful cards! The cake card is my favourite, with the contrast between the strong red and the randomly dancing navy blue cakes. Thanks for joining in with us again at Retro Rubber Challenge.
ReplyDeleteSo many terrific birthday cards! Thanks for adding one to the IB gallery!
ReplyDeleteI love the one-layer red, white and blue birthday card! Works perfectly. The ink blending on your second card is so pretty. (Two for Seize the Birthday, thank you!) I think your stencil outlining is brilliant. I have messed up two attempts so far, but will try again...
ReplyDeleteThree very creative and fun cards Joyce! Your stencil traced balloons are so fun and perfect with just a touch of light colour in the background. The black sentiment banner adds lots of contrast. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
