It is the end of July already and time for our 12 Kits of Occasion group post. I always look forward to this day, as it is such fun to see what everyone has made with their supplies. This month our hostess is Cathy of Empty Nest Crafter and she sent the most wonderful Christmas in July kit all full of amazing crafty goodies.
I had so much fun playing with all the wonderful supplies Cathy sent. My cards came together so quickly--before I knew it, I had 6 cards done, and had run out of time. Of course I still have lots of leftovers.
Want to see what I made? I had to use my very favorite item from the kit first. Isn't that plaid deer amazing?
That's it for me, but I've got plenty of supplies left for our second helpings month next year.
Please head over to our 12 Kits of Occasions blog to see a list of team members along with links to their blogs. You can also see who our lucky Guest Designer is this month (actually, we are the lucky ones to have her with us this month).
On a sad note, this is the last month that Kelly of Gingham Girl will be with us. We will miss Kelly, and wish her the best as she pursues other crafting adventures.
Thanks for Visiting
You've done it again, Joyce ... a fantastic collection of wonderful festive cards! They're all just gorgeous ... my favourite is the leaping reindeer against the scandinavian-jumper-style DP ... it's so dramatic and striking ... just lovely! Anita :)

ReplyDeleteI love your CAS Christmas cards! The ornament card is beautiful with the sentiment vertical like that. Love the way you used the patterned paper and still made the cards on the CAS/ elegant side. I bet if you had a Christmas tree you would decorate it beautifully , haha!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Joyce and you used that beautiful plaid deer! He really looks so majestic on the embossed background. You totally rocked Cathy's kit with so many wonderful creations. I love your jumping deer and that sweet tag on the plaid red, just as sweet as can be.
ReplyDeleteJoyce...you outdid yourself! I love all of your cards...the cute ornaments card with the sentiment along the side...hands down my favorite! I also loved the plaid deer card and I also loved the black cardinal perched on the wooden piece...great job and I am glad you liked the kit.
ReplyDeleteBoy am I impressed with your Twelve Days.... kit cards. I love the deer, the plaid, the gold, the embossing this is certainly one of the favorite Christmas/Holiday cards ever. :) Barb
ReplyDeleteYou sound just like me talking about Cathy's kit. I too was amazed how quickly I had six cards and my favorite thing was the plaid reindeer! Love your ornaments using that plaid too! I have a thing for plaid and that one is so great for Christmas. Our jumping deer cards look a lot alike but I really like that you added the oval. He stands out against the white better! You did a fantastic job with Cathy's kit!
ReplyDeleteYou can tell how much fun you had with this kit, Joyce... love the ornament card, and your leaping deer - so wonderful, each and every card...

You really make every element shine on your cards, Joyce. Love your simple but clever designs.
ReplyDeleteOOOhhhh yes! I did think that plaid deer was stunning too! I didn't use it though.. maybe saving it for a case card? I love him here, but I think my fave is the one with the ornaments. I think it was brilliant to put the sentiment down the side of the card - your eye just follows the drop of the ornaments. All the die cuts just pop off the pattern paper - your layouts are so clean and striking!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, when I talk about it being 'that time of the month', I have a big smile on my face and am referring to the 12 Kits of Occasion. I always get excited to see what you gals come up with! LOVE these Christmas cards! Your deer card 'leapt' at me from that gorgeous oval die layout, and the placement of your sentiment on your ornament card was inspired! I can't pick a favourite. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's a whole lot of pretty going on here Joyce!! LOVE the ornaments hung on the plaid paper with the vertical sentiment. Such a striking card!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy seeing this feature every month - what a cool kit this time around!! I feel like hanging up my stockings and putting up the tree after all that holiday goodness. My favorite card was the chalkboard ornament one at the end on the red giant plaid - so fun and extremely well done!! I love the deer that are part of this kit as well - super festive and I am looking forward to the holidays!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Joyce, a healthy 'first' helping of Christmas-themed cards that have me in breath-taken-away awe (which apparently is my response to all of your cards!). You've certainly showcased the magical and festive ingredients of this month's kit marvelously!
