Hello and happy Wednesday. A big thanks to everyone who was so kind to wish me a happy birthday yesterday. I was wondering how so many people knew about it, until I read Kim's blog post here....and it all became clear. What a sweet friend my Kim is.
Perhaps it is old age, but I find myself in need of belated birthday cards a bit too often. Here is one I made so I will be ready the next time I forget someone's birthday. "Prepare to Forget"--that would be a good motto.
I used the sketch at Sweet Sunday Sketches #267. I water colored my flower with Distress Abandoned Coral, so I will be entering the Don't Abandon Coral challenge at Simon Says Monday, and I used two positively ancient stamp sets--PTI Friends Till the End and Verve Big Wish, so I will also enter this card at Retro Rubber #13 Anything Goes. Retro Rubber is a new challenge for me, and was very excited to discover it, as it is all about encouraging you to use your older stamps.
Next up is a thank you card I made using my latest love--the iris in PTI Friendly Flowers. Warning--you are going to see this flower a lot this week. Today, my Iris appears on a smaller card (3.5 x 5), one layer with lots of stickles.
I stamped my Iris in Distress Abandoned Coral and then Pure Poppy.I will be entering this card at One Layer Simplicity #16 and the Don't Abandon Coral challenge at Simon Says Monday,
I can't seem to stop playing with my newest die--Boxed Up Birthday Greetings from Lil Inker. In my next two cards, I used this die for some inlaid die cutting.
I used Inktense pencils to color a rainbow on a scrap of white card stock and then used a water brush to blend all the colors together. I cut my card front as well as that rainbow piece with the Boxed Up Birthday Greetings, and put the white piece back into the card front. I inlaid all the negative pieces back onto the card front to surround the white die cut. I am entering this card at Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge where the theme is die cuts/punches and Simon Says Wednesday Let's Get Sentimental.
And, finally, one more take with the same die and inlaid die cut technique, this time using the colors at ColourQ #290.
I am also entering this card at Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge where the theme is die cuts/punches, the Don't Abandon Coral challenge at Simon Says Monday, and and Simon Says Wednesday Let's Get Sentimental.
Thanks for Visiting

ReplyDeletet's been some time since I've been here, Joyce, but it's so freezing cold here in the study where I have my computer and make my cards, I hardly spend any time here!!! But I've been missing my friends and making cards, so I've put on lots of warm clothing and can sort of handle the cold now!!! Looking forward to see what you have created the last three weeks!!!
ReplyDeleteThe cards you have here are all so lovely!!! Love the gold and black strips on the first card, the lovely flower and all the white space!!! Your iris is stunning and I love that box die you've used on the other two cards!!! All of them are simply beautiful!!!!
