It's a gorgeous, sunny spring day, and I don't know why I am inside making cards. I am going to run the dog over to the dog park as soon as I post the two cards I made today.
I played with my new Bitty Bouquets stamps today--I am just in love with these tiny flower stamps. I cut some hills using the SSS A2 Curved Edge die, and was inspired by the sketch at Happy Little Stampers. My sentiment looked a little lonely, so I stamped that little curvy bit from The Sweet Life right under it.
Here is a better view of the flowers--I covered the flowers with WOS and made three tiny dots using Ranger White Enamel.
I am entering this card at Happy Little Stampers March Sketch Challenge, CAS on Sunday #53: Girl Power, Addicted to Stamps #134: CAS, and Simon Says Wednesday Girly.
My next card is for this month's One Layer Simplicity Challenge, where the challenge this month is Words, Words, Words. I used a single sheet of water color paper and clear embossed my sentiment. I used distress ink pads to watercolor over my stamped sentiment.
I am not sure if twine is allowed on a one layer card, so I have a version of the card without twine. I'm not actually sure which version I prefer.
I am also entering this card at Virginia's View #13: All Things Embossed, and Addicted to CAS #58 where the challenge is Distress.
That's it for me today. I'm off to take the dog on an adventure.
Thanks for Visiting
Two beautiful cards! I love those sweet flowers on the great hills! That flourish under the sentiment was a great call! Gorgeous one-layer card! I love that wash of colors!
ReplyDeleteA pair of lovely cards Joyce!! Those little blooms and that rolling polka dot hill are delightful!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! That large ME sentiment always makes a great card. And I love your Bitty Bouquet design--such a sweet card!
ReplyDeleteLove those vibrant pink blooms standing proud on their green hills, Joyce ... so delicious! Gorgeous watercoloured words ... with and without the twine ... they're both fabulous! Hope the adventure went well! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pair!!! Both cards are wildly successful in that they are going to so many challenges!!! And both are also incredibly well done through your uses of color which is vibrant and gorgeous on these lovelies!!! My favorite thing about you and your stamping/creating : you are so extremely versatile and can stretch yourself in many different areas of cleverness!!! Super well done!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous way to represent the hills and love the colour contrast. Thanks for joining ATSM
ReplyDeleteWOW! both cards are stunning Joyce.
ReplyDeleteLove the layout and pop of pink flowers to the first one. Then the second is just jaw-droppingly wonderful. So simple yet so so effective. I think I prefer without twine but both are great.
Thanks for playing along at ATSM. Sarah x

ReplyDeleteLOVE that spring card with the patterned hills and sweet flowers. Adorable!! The flourish under the sentiment really makes it stand out. And love the watercoloured background with your large, embossed sentiment. Such pretty colours. Thanks so much for playing along at Happy Little Stampers and ATCAS.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are so gorgeous Joyce, but I think that the twine balances the card a bit more! Love the colours!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are absolutely lovely. I really like the papers you've used on the hills and the pretty flower. Love the diecut border too. Thanks so much for playing along with ASM this week!

ReplyDeleteI love the lawn you added under the flower, Joyce. I forget to use that die. Personally I prefer without the twine. I finally got that stamp but haven't used it yet. Maybe I'll use that die with that stamp. lol
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful !!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, Joyce! I love your take on the sketch and your distressed watercolouring is awesome. Thanks so much for playing along at Happy Little Stampers and ATCAS xx
ReplyDeleteSuper fun flowers! Thanks for joining in at ATCAS!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards - both of them! Thanks so much for playing with us at ATSM this week!
ReplyDeleteLove the patterned hills and the tiny white dots on the flowers of your first card and the flourish under the sentiment was the perfect addition. Yummy colours on the last 2 cards and I think I like the one with the bow best.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I like the twined version of the one layer card better. To me it seems like it needs a little something to anchor it. I adore that first card with the rolling hills!
ReplyDeleteOops! forgot to say thank you for sharing with ATCAS !
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are great! I love the different patterns for the hills on the first card. The one-layer card is what brought me here. The watercolor background is wonderful and perfect to set-off the sentiment!
