Hi there and happy Wednesday. I've got a card for this week's Make it Monday #180: Stamping Ombre Backgrounds. I loved Laura's background so much that I decided to try to make it myself. I pulled out the same stamp set and inks and set to work. I don't think mine came out as nicely as hers, but I am still pleased.
I was inspired by this card by Taheerah and wanted to try embossing in gold using embossing paste. Honestly, I don't know why it never occurred to me that one could emboss with embossing paste. You would have thought that I would have clued in when I heard the word ...'emboss'. Anyway, I loved Taheerah's card and used my SSS Falling Snow Stencil with gold embossing powder to make my card. I am entering this card at Virginia's View Challenge #9: All Things Metallic.
When I saw Cristina's tag this morning on Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags, I knew I wanted to do something just like it for The Card Concept #23: Krafty Christmas challenge. I will put my card in the Clean and Layered category.
Last up are two cards that use the fabulous sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #99 and the fall colors at ColourQ #267. I made a plaid strip using WMS Offbeat Backgrounds and then die cut and stamped the leaves and acorns from Autumn Acorns.
Well, that's it for me today. Need to dash off to pick up my girls at school.
Thanks for Visiting
Joyce, all cards are wonderful! Love the one for The Card Concept, I also saw Cristina's tag and like her idea of the letter substitution. But yours is so appropriate for this challenge! The black-n-white card with the golden snow is so elegant.
ReplyDeleteOohhh, Joyce! All of these cards are beautiful! Don't think I could pick a favorite, but I do know I want to CASE two of them (Thank You and Happy Thanksgiving) :-)
ReplyDeleteWow you've been busy cranking out one marvelous card after another!! You did a great job on the MIM technique and your ColourQ cards are adorable, perfectly Thanksgivingish!! I love those acorns! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week!
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous, Joyce! Loving the rainbow on the first card and the gold sparkle on the second but my favourites are the last two with the awesome plaid.
ReplyDeleteJoyce...you are just amazing! I love each and everyone of your cards, but your first one with the Ombre design is just fun and festive for a birthday card. I love it and can not wait to case you on this one. Your two ColourQ cards are so so pretty and just scream fall, I really love the way you used this weeks colors, just perfect for this challenge. Thank you so much for playing along with us at ColourQ, hope to see you again next week.
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome cards! I love them all. I loved Cristina's tag too and want to create a card using the same technique she used. Great minds. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the ombré !
ReplyDeleteWell, I came to see the beautful ombre and was treated to so much more :) Great cards, Joyce!
ReplyDeleteYou should say "Five GORGEOUS Cards" in your title, Joyce! These are all superb and such fun and fine takes on the challenges and your inspiration artists! My fave is the fun acorns with the plaid. Both your ColourQ cards are reminders of why I wish we could enjoy fall cards longer and not have them be squeezed into a few days between Halloween and Christmas! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWow, these are fantastic...who knew when I was coming to visit the MIM card there would be so many bonuses,,,all are awesome!
ReplyDeleteAlways love seeing your beautiful designs Joyce and these are no exception. I'm seeing that wonderful embossed snow everywhere at the moment...looks great in gold. And your Autumnal cards are such a vibrant mix of all the colours! Thanks for playing along at Colour Q this week!
ReplyDeleteAll your cards are fabulous! Your ombre stamping came out beautifully and is just as fine as Laura's. Don't sell yourself short. I too am coveting the fall acorn card. Too cute!! They all are!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, Joyce! I especially love the last two fall cards you made using the CTS -- fabulous takes on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteGreat. Cards. I think your ombre card is beautiful. The happy die you used is perfect for the background.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely craft Christmas Card! I really like that there's no Christmas text greeting on the front - you can save the it for the inside!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Germany
Felicity
Wonderful take on the sketch--love that you used leaves and acorns!
ReplyDeleteWow, Joyce, really WOW! Such an awesome collection of cards ... each one is just amazing! I've been trying to find a favourite, but each time I scroll around, I find a different one ... the last time I looked it was the dramatic gold and black one ... wondering if I should go for yet another look!?! Anita :)
