I am learning to absolutely love carpool days! I had time to go to the gym in the morning, and then play in my craft room for most of the day--then my daughters were delivered to my door. Love that.
I used the Brevilla Houses die from Poppy Stamps to cut a whole bunch of little houses in colors inspired by this week's Color Throwdown #309 to make an entire neighborhood on my card. I bought this die several months ago, and it has been sitting patiently waiting it's turn at the Big Shot--now it is the NBUS for Darnell's NBUS Challenge #2. I am also entering this card at Catherine Pooler's Housewarming Party.
I have to say that this card came out just as I had imagined it when I thought it up in spin class, and I am very happy with how it looks.
I loved this color scheme so much, I made a second card with it. I am entering this card at Seize the Birthday, where the toppings option is Sweet Treats. There is a tiny little birthday card on my focal point. I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday to Make Your Own Background.
I've got three cards for the Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge. The first card is also for Colour Me #37. I need to build up my stash of pet sympathy cards, and was inspired by this card by Laura Bassen. I used Dog Icons dies by Paper Smooches and a sentiment from PTI Pet Sympathy.
I made another similar card using a paw print stamp from Paper Smooches Paws for a Cause and another sentiment from Pet Sympathy. The ink is NBUS WPlus9 Lake House.
Last up, and my third card for the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge is a card for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The tree is the All Seasons Tree from SSS and the sentiment is Paper Smooches Kibitzing Sampler. I stamped and cut a tiny apple from one of the PTI Tag it's sets, and coated it with Glossy Accents.
If you are interested to see previous Rosh Hashanah posts, please click here. I think I will be making a small batch of this particular card to send out for Rosh Hashanah, which is on September 25th this year.
I will be entering cards #2 and #4 at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Stamptember, because those cards have the most stamping.
That's it for me today. Not sure what is up for this weekend, but I am hoping for some crafty time at some point.
Thanks for Visiting
Awesome cards!! I so love the card with the houses :)
ReplyDeleteEeep! You always make me feel so unproductive and lacking in energy when I come and see your brilliant works of art, Joyce!! These are all so gorgeous and so well-executed! Your cityscape reminds me of a stacked city I did quite a while ago, but mine was nowhere near as clean and sharp as yours! Thank you so much for entering it in my second NBUS Challenge!!
ReplyDeleteI also love your Rosh Hashana and pet sympathy cards! Such great inspirations! You are always so caring and thoughtful in the cards you make! Hugs, Darnell

ReplyDeleteJust wanted to THANK YOU for the sweet comment you left on my blog!! It's nice to know that you live and San Diego and now that you shared that info, maybe you can tell me about any fabulous "Craft Stores" in that area that I can go visit while I am there. The last time I was there, I want to "Paper Tales" and to the Dick Blick store in Little Italy...but would LOVE to hear about any others. I'll flying out this week and will be there for 8 days! SO excited to see my son...it's been too long! What a lovely place to live...I so wish I could live there too and be closer to him...but since Hubby's job is here....for now, so are we!! I live on the coast too, but in Massachusetts...where we have terribly cold winters...I think SD is MUCH more the climate I would LOVE!
ReplyDeletePS: Love your Paw Print cards...very touching as a dog - lover, We have three rescues...I can totally relate...they are my babies...and that's the only hard thing about being away, is missing them. Thankfully, my Hubby will be home to take good care of them and work on my new craft room!! Yay!! Thanks again, Lisa
